カウントダウンベゼル。タイタスのカリプソマチックと同様のケースを採用した意欲作です。ガードレスのビッグクラウンは操作性に優れています。ブラックミラーダイヤルは夜光インデックスと大振りな時分針、矢じり型の秒針が、特徴的に配されています。回転ベゼルは10分刻みの数字が並び、12時位置には高い視認性を確保するポインターが設けられています。

こちらはNEW OLD STOCKの個体で、販売当時のシールや使用感のないトロピックベルト、BOXが残存しています。ベゼルのエッジはシャープに保たれており、このケース特有のラグの繊細なエッジは美しく残っています。針にはわずかなくすみが見られるものの、十分な輝きを維持しており、インデックスの夜光塗料も崩れることなく均一にベージュへと変化。ヴィンテージらしい風格が感じられる仕上がりです。こちらは未使用品のため、分解掃除は行っておりません。

COMMENT

This skin diver model, produced in the 1960s, features a countdown bezel and a case design reminiscent of the Titus Calypsomatic—an ambitious execution in both form and function. Its glossy black dial is fitted with luminous hour markers, oversized hour and minute hands, and a distinctive arrowhead-shaped seconds hand. The rotating bezel is marked in 10-minute increments, with a high-visibility pointer at the 12 o’clock position for quick reference.

This is a New Old Stock piece, retaining its original sales sticker and an unworn Tropic strap from the time of sale. The bezel edges remain sharp, and the delicate chamfering unique to this case style is beautifully preserved. While the hands show a slight degree of patina, they still retain a good level of shine. The luminous material on the indexes has aged evenly to a warm beige, offering a rich vintage aesthetic. As this piece remains in unused condition, no disassembly or cleaning has been performed.

The boldly engraved “SUPERWATERPROOF” on the case back reflects the confidence in its capabilities as a professional diver’s watch of the era. Design cues such as the crown-without-guards and countdown bezel are signature traits of skin diver models from that period, making it a particularly appealing piece for vintage enthusiasts.
