The Rolex Ref.6430 “Oyster Speedking” is a small-sized Oyster case model that represents the brand’s output during the 1960s. This example features a black gilt dial with “ROLEX,” “OYSTER,” “T SWISS T,” and the outer minute track executed in gilt relief, while “PRECISION” and “SPEEDKING” are printed in silver. The flat-style crown logo reflects the sporty details of its era. The stainless steel case measures approximately 30mm, offering both water resistance and robustness typical of the Oyster line. Accompanying the watch is a 17mm rivet bracelet Ref.7205 with end links 51 and clasp code 67/2, retaining its period-correct configuration.
The case shows only light signs of use, with its shape intact and edges well-preserved. The dial retains its glossy mirror finish, and the gilt lettering remains crisp. The hands and indexes preserve their original character; while the lume on the hands has aged to a dark tone, the dial’s lume plots have mellowed into a beige hue, lending the piece an attractive vintage presence. The bracelet remains in excellent condition. Serviced by our watchmakers.
Though considered a smaller model within the Rolex lineup, the Speedking is highly regarded among enthusiasts for its refinement and distinct presence. The interplay of the glossy mirror dial with gilt and silver printing brings a sense of sophistication, concentrated within the compact case. With its remarkably well-preserved gloss, this particular example offers strong collectability and a rich glimpse into the diversity and depth of vintage Rolex.

Introduced as a mid-sized hand-wound watch, the Speedking was produced by Rolex for decades as a discreet yet refined option. Earlier models of the 1950s were offered with a variety of dial and hand configurations, appealing to collectors for their diversity, while in the 1960s the design evolved into a slimmer, more streamlined form—making it equally well-suited to both men and women.
