COMMENT

サンレイ仕上げのダイヤルは、中央がふっくらと盛り上がったボンベ形状で、外周に向かってなだらかに傾斜する段付きの構成。バーインデックスと段差が交差することで、奥行きのあるデザインが生まれています。ミニッツマーカーにはパールドロップを採用し、立体感と陰影を添えています。段付きダイヤルではホワイト系が主流である中、サンレイ仕上げとの組み合わせは稀少です。日付表示が中心寄りに配置された、いわゆる“寄り目”デザインです。ケースは18Kホワイトゴールド無垢製。通称“シーラカンス”と呼ばれるヴィンテージリューズが装着され、細部にも個性が宿ります。

ケースにはわずかな使用傷が見られますが、ラグのエッジは明確に残っており、全体として引き締まった印象を保っています。ダイヤルは焼けや汚れがなく、サンレイ仕上げ特有の放射状の光彩が美しく広がるミントコンディションです。針・インデックスは鏡面仕上げのファセットが鮮明で、輝きに曇りは見られません。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

搭載ムーブメントは、IWC自社製のCal.8531。高効率なペラトン式自動巻きを採用し、信頼性と実用性を兼ね備えた名機です。内寄りに設けられた日付窓は3時位置のインデックスと干渉せず、ダイヤル全体のバランスを損なうことなく機能性を確保しています。ダイヤル、ミニッツ、ケースが三層で描く同心円構造は、静謐でありながらも強い造形美を放ち、IWCならではの洗練を感じさせます。ドレススタイルに確かな個性と深みを加える一本として、時代を超えて支持される魅力を備えています。

COMMENT

The sunray-finished dial features a gently domed “bombé” profile, sloping toward the outer edge in a tiered construction. The bar indexes intersect with the step of the dial, creating a subtle depth and dimensionality. Minute markers are rendered in a pearl drop style, adding texture and contrast. While step dials are typically paired with white tones, the combination with a sunray finish is notably rare. The date window is positioned unusually close to the center—an eye-catching “cross-eyed” layout. The case is crafted from solid 18K white gold and is fitted with the so-called “coelacanth” vintage crown, a charming detail that adds character.

The case shows only minor signs of use, with the sharp edges of the lugs remaining intact, giving the watch a well-defined presence. The dial is in mint condition, free from discoloration or aging, and the radial sunburst finish reflects light beautifully. Both the hands and indexes exhibit clean, crisp facets with a mirror finish and retain their full brilliance. Fully disassembled and cleaned by our team.

Powering the watch is IWC’s in-house Cal. 8531, featuring the efficient and highly regarded Pellaton automatic winding system—known for its reliability and functionality. The inward-positioned date window is carefully placed to avoid clashing with the 3 o’clock marker, maintaining visual harmony while enhancing utility.
