OMEGA Seamaster Ref.166.010 No Seahorse Caseback NOS

オメガ シーマスター Ref.166.010です。シルバーのサンレイダイヤルに、黒いラインを入れた立体的なバーインデックスとドーフィンハンドを配置。夜光塗料を用いない端正な構成に、3時位置のデイト表示とファセットを施した窓枠がアクセントを加えています。滑らかなベゼルと力強く張り出したラグを組み合わせた、シンプルながら立体感のあるケースデザインです。ケースはステンレススチールに厚く金を被せたゴールドキャップ仕様。ビーズ・オブ・ライスブレスレット Ref.1036、エンドリンク511が組み合わされています。ムーブメントは自動巻Cal.565を搭載しています。

未使用のまま保管されてきたNOS個体で、ケースにはごく軽微な保管痕を除き、使用による傷や打痕がほとんど見られません。ゴールドキャップの色調と艶は美しく保たれ、ラグの稜線や各面の仕上げも明瞭です。通常は使用や経年によって腐食が生じやすいオリジナルのバネ棒が、良好な状態で現存していることも特筆すべき点です。ブレスレットにもメッキの剥がれや目立つ傷はなく、製造当時の仕上げを維持しています。ダイヤルは変色や傷のない良好な状態で、針、インデックス、Ωロゴも瑞々しい輝きを保っています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

さらに本個体には、通常のRef.166.010とは異なる特殊な点があります。本来、裏蓋外面に刻まれるシーホースのメダリオンがなく、完全な無刻印となっています。弊社ではこれまで千点を超えるRef.166.010を確認してきましたが、この仕様は初めて確認する例です。製造時に刻印工程が省かれたエラー個体と推察され、NOSの状態で残されている点を考え合わせると、販売店またはオメガでの検品段階で販売に至らず、後年になって市場へ流出した可能性も考えられます。ケースからブレスレットまで製造当時の姿を保つ保存状態に加え、通常とは異なる裏蓋を備えた、コレクション性の高い一本です。

COMMENT

The Omega Seamaster Ref.166.010 features a silver sunburst dial with dimensional baton indexes and dauphine hands, each accented by a black line. The absence of luminous material gives the dial a clean, composed appearance, while the date display at 3 o’clock and its faceted frame add a subtle point of detail. A smooth bezel and strongly projecting lugs give the otherwise restrained case a sense of depth. The stainless steel case is gold-capped and paired with a beads-of-rice bracelet, Ref.1036, with 511 end links. Inside is the automatic Cal.565.

This New Old Stock example has remained unused. Apart from extremely minor storage marks, the case shows virtually no scratches or dents. The gold-capped finish retains its original tone and lustre, while the defined lines of the lugs and the various case finishes remain clearly preserved. Of particular note are the original spring bars, which remain in good condition despite being parts that commonly develop corrosion through age and use. The bracelet shows no loss of plating or prominent scratches and retains its original finish. The dial is free from discoloration and marks, while the hands, indexes, and applied Omega logo preserve a fresh sheen. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

This example also has an unusual feature that distinguishes it from the standard Ref.166.010. The outside of the case back is entirely unmarked, without the Seamaster hippocampus medallion normally found on this reference. Having examined more than a thousand examples of the Ref.166.010, this is the first time we have encountered this configuration. It appears possible that the engraving stage was omitted during production. Given its preserved New Old Stock condition, the watch may not have entered retail circulation after inspection by Omega or a dealer and may only have reached the market at a later date. This remains an inference, but together with its exceptional preservation from case to bracelet, the unusual case back makes it a particularly distinctive example.
