ヴァシュロン・コンスタンタンの「クロノメーター・ロイヤル」Ref.6694は、1962年に発表された自動巻モデルです。翼のように張り出した特徴的なラグから、コレクターの間では「バットマン」の愛称で知られています。滑らかな曲面とシャープな稜線を組み合わせたケースは18Kホワイトゴールド製。シルバーのサンレイダイヤルには、立体的なアプライドインデックスとペンシルハンド、3時位置のデイト表示を備えています。アプライドのマルタ十字ロゴ中央にダイヤモンドをセットした、珍しい仕様です。ヴァシュロン・コンスタンタン純正のストラップとバックルが付属しますが、いずれも後年のものです。

ケースはエッジの立った良好なプロポーションを保ち、ヘアライン仕上げと鏡面仕上げの切り替えも鮮明に残されています。ケースサイドのホールマークも明瞭です。ケースバックには傷が見られるものの、全体として使用感は少なく、ダイヤルはミントコンディションを維持しています。針とインデックスには美しい輝きが残り、ロゴや各種プリントも鮮明です。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

搭載するCal.K1072/1は、ヴァシュロン・コンスタンタン初の自動巻クロノメーターキャリバーを発展させた29石のムーブメントです。18Kゴールドの外周を備えたローターをルビー製ローラーベアリングで支持し、フリースプラングのジャイロマックステンプを採用。温度差、等時性、5姿勢に対する調整が施されています。独創的なケース造形と高度なムーブメントを併せ持つ、クロノメーター・ロイヤルを代表するモデルです。

The Vacheron Constantin Chronomètre Royal Ref. 6694 is an automatic model introduced in 1962. Its distinctive wing-shaped lugs have earned it the nickname “Batman” among collectors. Crafted from 18K white gold, the case combines smooth curves with sharply defined edges. The silver sunburst dial is fitted with three-dimensional applied indexes, pencil hands, and a date display at 3 o’clock. An unusual detail is the applied Maltese cross emblem, set with a diamond at its center. The watch is accompanied by a later Vacheron Constantin strap and buckle.

The case retains sharp edges and excellent proportions, with a clear distinction between the brushed and polished surfaces. The hallmark on the case side also remains clearly defined. Although the case back shows some scratches, the watch displays little overall wear, and the dial remains in mint condition. The hands and indexes retain their attractive luster, while the logo and all printing remain crisp. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

The Cal. K1072/1 is a 29-jewel movement developed from Vacheron Constantin’s first automatic chronometer caliber. Its rotor features an 18K gold peripheral mass and is supported by ruby roller bearings. The movement is also equipped with a free-sprung Gyromax balance and adjusted for temperature, isochronism, and five positions. Combining an unconventional case with a highly developed movement, the Ref. 6694 is one of the defining models of the Chronomètre Royal collection.

In Japan, the brand was long known as “Vacheron Constantin” under a different transliteration.
