コスモグラフ・デイトナの前身としてプレデイトナとも呼び声の高いRef.6238のさらに前期モデル、Ref.6234です。文字盤はホワイトダイアル。一段下がった同系色のインダイアルと、ダイアル外周のブルーのテレメーターサークルは、古典的且つ洗練された配色です。センタークロノ針とインダイアル針は全てブルースチールで色味が合っています。アルファハンドの針は短く、小さなクサビインデックスは最小限の配置です。インダイアルが小さいもので、上品さに拍車をかけます。ブレスは同年式の3連リベットブレスを装備しています。

ダイアルはご覧の通り、ほのかに乳白色化し、均一にパティナを得ています。正面から見た時は程よいヴィンテージ感。角度をつけて光を反射させると、よりエイジングを感じます。インデックスは比較的輝きがあり、ダイアルとの一体感がかっこいいです。ケースは大きなダメージのない、グッドコンディションです。貴重なモデルである故に、大切に使用されてきたことが解ります。

This is the Ref.6234, often referred to as the Pre-Daytona and considered the predecessor to the Cosmograph Daytona. The white dial presents a classic and refined color scheme with a slightly recessed same-color sub-dial and a blue telemeter scale encircling the dial. All hands, including the central chronograph hand and sub-dial hands, are in harmonious blue steel. The short Alpha hands and minimalistic dagger indices on the small sub-dials exude understated elegance. The watch is adorned with a three-link riveted bracelet from the same era.

The dial, subtly aged to a milky white hue, displays uniform patina, offering a pleasant vintage feel when viewed head-on. When catching the light at different angles, the aging becomes more apparent. The indices exhibit a relatively bright luster, creating a cool synergy with the dial. The case is in good condition, devoid of significant damages, a testament to the careful usage of this precious model.

Produced from 1955 to 1961, the Ref.6234 had a total production of around 2300 stainless steel pieces.
