COMMENT

1969年製のナビタイマーは、ヴィーナス178を搭載しているRef.806の最終型。インダイヤルまでオールブラックだった初期のナビタイマーから一変し、1960年代のセカンドジェネレーションは、インダイヤルが白いリバースパンダが特徴です。2ndモデルの中でも、後期型であるこちらは、インナーリングに赤い差し色が入っているのが特徴です。ダイヤルはメーカーロゴマークのみプリントで、それ以外のレターやラインはギルトと非常にコストをかけています。インダイアルは3時位置が30分積算計、6時位置が12時間計、9時位置が永久秒針です。

ヴィンテージナビタイマーは非防水のパイロットウォッチですので、水気によるダメージがあるものが市場に多いです。当品のダイヤルは、若干質感に変化は見られるものの、ブラックミラーの艶感がほどよく残っています。白いインナーベゼルは経年変化により、黄味を帯びています。ルミナスにエイジングが見られますが、程よいヴィンテージテイストで好感が持てます。ケースはプロポーションがよく、傷が少ないです。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

程よく使用された形跡の見られるナビタイマーですが、実用時計としてガシガシと使っていただけます。搭載ムーブメントである、ヴィーナス178は長年採用された名機で、作動がとても安定しています。クロノグラフの作動時にも性能が落ちないよう、元の設計で振り角が高めに設定されているのではないかと感じるほどです。当店にて整備済みですので、クロノグラフも快調にご使用いただけます。

1884年、スイスのサン・ティミエに複雑時計製作の工房が設立されたのが＜BREITLING＞のルーツ。創業者のレオン・ブライトリングはクロノグラフ製作の才能に富み、博覧会では数々の賞を受賞、その名を世間に知らしめました。彼はエンジン飛行機が発展途上であった頃から航空産業の発展を確信し、飛行機のための時計や計器メーカーとして航空産業を支える意志を示しました。その意志を受け継いだ2代目ガストン・ブライトリングは世界初の腕時計型クロノグラフを開発するなど航空産業に多大な貢献をしています。“クロノグラフのスペシャリスト”として確固たる地位を築いた＜BREITLING＞は、今なお世界中で愛されている名門ブランドとして発展し続けています。

COMMENT

This is the final version of the Ref.806 Navitimer, produced in 1969, equipped with the Venus 178 movement. It represents a shift from the early Navitimer, which had an all-black dial, to the characteristic white reverse panda dial of the second generation in the 1960s. This specific later model features a red accent on the inner ring, adding a distinctive touch. The dial is minimalistic, with only the manufacturer's logo printed, and the rest of the lettering and lines are gilded, reflecting a significant investment in craftsmanship. The sub-dials at 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 9 o'clock positions function as a 30-minute accumulator, a 12-hour counter, and a continuous seconds hand, respectively.

Vintage Navitimers, being non-water-resistant pilot watches, often exhibit damage from moisture, but the dial of this timepiece maintains a glossy black mirror finish with slight texture changes. The white inner bezel has acquired a yellowish tint over the years. Aging is visible in the luminous material, adding a vintage touch. The case is well-proportioned with minimal scratches. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our team.

This Navitimer, showing signs of moderate use, can be confidently used as a practical timepiece. The Venus 178 movement, a long-standing and well-regarded caliber, ensures stable performance. The chronograph maintains its performance without a drop in functionality, suggesting that the original design featured a higher oscillation frequency. Fully serviced by our workshop, this watch is ready for smooth operation.

In 1884, a workshop for the production of complex timepieces was established in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, marking the foundation of Breitling. Founder Léon Breitling, endowed with a talent for crafting chronographs, won numerous awards at exhibitions, gaining recognition for his skills. With a belief in the growth of the aviation industry from the early stages of airplane development, he expressed the will to support the aviation industry as a watch and instrument manufacturer. Gaston Breitling, the second generation inheriting this determination, made significant contributions to the aviation industry, developing the world's first wristwatch chronograph. Breitling, known as the "Chronograph Specialist," has continued to evolve as a prestigious brand, loved worldwide.
