VACHERON & CONSTANTIN Ref.4195 Guilloche Dial

COMMENT

カラトラバケースのヴァセロン。完璧なシェイプのケースには、同社らしい精緻なギョシェダイアルが収められています。この年式のヴァセロンは球数は少ないものの、複雑なギョシェダイアルを多種生産したようです。ダイアルはメタリックなシルバーカラー。中央部はストライプにうねりをもたせた独特の模様です。パールドロップのミニッツが位置する部分はフラットで、内外により細やかな彫りを入れています。外周部は12個に部屋分けをし、弧を描いたラインを重ねています。ロゴのレター部はギョシェ仕上げを行わず、メーカーロゴが浮き出たような視覚効果があります。この浮き出るロゴは当時のヴァセロンでよく見られる手法でした。インデックスは3.6.9.12はアラビア、他は三角と、長方の六角形を交互に配しています。スモールセコンドは若干上に位置し、外周の仕上げと6のインデックスに干渉しません。搭載ムーブメントはジュネーブシール規格にパスしたCal.K453/3BWを搭載しています。

ケースは気になるようなダメージが見られず、良好なプロポーションを保っています。全てが曲線でデザインされているため、変な研磨が入るとバランス感が際立って悪く見えてしまいます。ここまで良い状態のものは稀です。 ダイアルは目立ったような汚れは見当たりません。光により、表情豊かに変化します。針やインデックスは極めて良好なコンディションで、上面にくすみが見られません。当店にてオーバーホール済みで、48時間以上のパワーリザーブを確認しています。

当時のヴァセロンのギョシェダイアルは今から100年以上前の機械で手彫りされて作成されていたという逸話があります。今となってはロストテクノロジーとなっている可能性も高いですね。1950年代にここまでのギョシェダイアルを生産したヴァセロンの気概が大いに感じられる一品です。

BRAND

18世紀中頃創業のヴァシュロン・コンスタンタン。日本では誤訳により長い間バセロン・コンスタンチンの呼称で愛されていました。キャビノチェの精神に受け継ぐ世界最古の高級時計ブランドです。キャビノチェは、照明装置の乏しかった当時、技術の高い職人は明かりを求めて屋根裏部屋（キャビネット）に工房を設けており、人々は彼らに敬意を表してキャビノチェと呼んでいたことが語源です。マルタ十字のクロスをブランドロゴに掲げ、高く洗練された優れた技術力によって生み出された名品はコレクターも多く、世界中から高い評価を得ています。

Guilloche Dial,   Clatrava Case

COMMENT

A Vacheron Constantin with a Calatrava case. The exquisitely shaped case houses the intricate guilloché dial typical of the brand. Despite being from this era, this Vacheron seems to have produced a variety of complex guilloché dials. The dial is metallic silver in colour, with a unique pattern of waves and stripes in the central area. The area where the pearl drop minute markers are located is flat, with intricate engraving both inside and outside. The outer perimeter is divided into 12 sections, with overlapping lines drawn in arcs. The letters of the logo are not guilloché finished, creating a visual effect of the manufacturer's logo standing out. This raised logo was a common technique used by Vacheron at the time. The indices consist of Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12, while triangles and elongated hexagons alternate for the rest. The small seconds sub-dial is slightly elevated and does not interfere with the finish on the outer perimeter and the index at 6. It houses the Cal. K453/3BW movement, which meets the Geneva Seal standard.

The case shows no noticeable damage and maintains excellent proportions. Since everything is designed with curves, any improper polishing would significantly disrupt the balance. Such a well-preserved piece is rare to find. The dial shows no visible dirt or stains and changes beautifully in the light. The hands and indices are in extremely good condition, with no signs of dullness on the surface. It has been overhauled by our shop, and we have confirmed a power reserve of over 48 hours.

There is an anecdote that Vacheron's guilloché dials from that era were hand-carved using machines from over 100 years ago. It is highly likely that this is now a lost technology. This piece truly embodies Vacheron's spirit of producing such intricate guilloché dials in the 1950s.
