オメガのフラッグシップモデル、コンステレーション。大胆な文字盤のデザインは、ダイヤモンドインデックスと呼ばれる大きなダイヤモンド型のインデックスと、12角にカットされたパイパンダイヤルが特徴で、オメガを代表するデザインの1つです。搭載ムーブメントは全回転自動巻の第2世代Cal.551。550番台以降のキャリバーは、可能な限り無駄を省いたスマートで完成された機械へと移行します。金張りのブレスレットはビーズオブライス、Ref.8220とエンドリンク511を装備しています。

ケースは気になるようなダメージが見られず、良好なプロポーションを保っています。ヴィンテージの金張り素材は、少なからず剥がれが起きても致し方ないものですが、こちらはラグのエッジまで金が残っています。ダイアルは若干のエイジングが確認できますが、当時の色味を保っており、オメガの創意工夫をそのままに体感していただけます。ブレスレットは固定リンク6-9個で、発売当時のテーパーです。当店にて分解掃除済みで、パワーリザーブ48時間以上を確認しています。

機械式時計が最盛を迎え、新たなデザインを模索していたオメガの意欲作です。ブレスが付属し、より作品のような仕上がりとなっています。持つ者をハイエンドに演出する、稀少かつ特別な意匠の時計です。

この世代のオメガの機械は自動巻効率が優秀なため、手巻きを必要とする場合がほとんどありません。コンステレーションのオリジナル竜頭は、デザイン性を重視しています。手巻きし難いなど、マニュアルでの操作が重い感じますが、オリジナルの仕様であり、問題ありません。

Omega's flagship model, the Constellation, is known for its bold dial design featuring large diamond-shaped indexes, often referred to as diamond markers, and a pie-pan dial cut into an octagonal shape. It stands out as one of Omega's iconic designs. The watch houses the second-generation Caliber 551, a fully automatic movement. Caliber 550 and subsequent calibers aimed to streamline and optimize the movement as much as possible. The gold-plated bracelet features rice bead links, Ref. 8220, and end links 511.

The case exhibits no significant damage and maintains a well-proportioned appearance. Vintage gold-plated materials are prone to some peeling over time, but here, the gold remains intact, extending to the edges of the lugs. The dial shows some signs of aging, but it retains the original color, allowing you to experience Omega's innovative design of that era. The bracelet consists of fixed links ranging from 6 to 9, featuring the taper typical of that time. The watch has undergone disassembly and cleaning at our shop, and a power reserve of over 48 hours has been confirmed.

During the heyday of mechanical watches, Omega was actively exploring new designs, and this Constellation represents their ambitious work. With the accompanying bracelet, it achieves a more artistic finish, making it a rare and special timepiece that enhances the wearer's sense of luxury.

The mechanical movements in Omega watches from this era usually have excellent automatic winding efficiency, rendering manual winding almost unnecessary. The original crown of the Constellation emphasizes design, and although manual winding may feel a bit challenging, it is by design and not an issue.
