IWC Cal.88 Calatrava Case

COMMENT

COMMENT

This Old Inter adopts the popular Calatrava case, characterized by smooth curves along the case and lugs when viewed from the side. The simple form of the bezel adds to its elegance. The indexes are narrow bars, doubling at 12, 3, and 9, accentuating the appeal of the non-date specification. The hour and minute hands are pencil-shaped, reaching firmly to the pearl drops on the outer periphery. It's powered by the hand-wound Cal.88 movement, known for its short production period and high reputation.

Given the emphasis on condition, particularly for a dress model, we've meticulously evaluated it, and overall, it's in excellent condition. The white dial displays subtle signs of aging, offering a beautifully aged champagne hue, allowing you to savor its vintage charm. There's no plating loss on the hands or indexes, and they reflect light nicely. The luminous dots on the pearl drops show no deterioration. The case features sharp lug edges and only minor scratches with no significant damage. It has been disassembled and cleaned by us, confirming a long power reserve of over 48 hours. You can use it confidently immediately after purchase.

The Old Inter features the brand logo in cursive script. While it's a typical design, the presence of the small seconds hand enhances its classic ambiance. Watches with the Cal.88 movement are rare to come by, making it a must-see for enthusiasts.
