BUBBLE BACK
Introduced in the 1930s, the BUBBLE BACK is one of the defining early automatic wristwatch series from Rolex. Its most recognizable feature is the domed caseback, designed to accommodate the automatic movement, which gave rise to the widely used “Bubble Back” nickname.
Vintage BUBBLE BACK watches appear in a wide variety of configurations, including smooth and engine-turned bezels, Arabic numerals, baton indexes, and two-tone dials. Their compact cases, distinctive three-dimensional proportions, and expressive early Rolex dial designs give the collection much of its enduring appeal.
