Chameleon
Introduced in the 1950s, the Chameleon is one of Rolex’s most distinctive ladies’ watch collections. Its interchangeable case-and-strap system allowed the appearance of the watch to be changed easily to suit different outfits or moods, giving rise to the name “Chameleon.”
The collection was typically produced with small precious-metal cases, including yellow and white gold, and fitted with manually wound movements. Because the character of the watch changes so dramatically with different strap colors and materials, the Chameleon occupies a unique position between wristwatch, jewelry, and fashion accessory within the world of vintage Rolex.
