OMEGAが手がけた貴重なレクタンギュラーモデル。マリーンと呼ばれ、一般的な角形時計のウィークポイントであった防水性能を、特殊なケース構造によってカバーしたオメガ初のダイバーズウォッチです。こちらはセカンドジェネレーションです。ダイヤルはホワイト。ダイヤル中央と外周のミニッツトラックは仕上げが異なるのか、交互に光を反射させ陰影を見せます。アラビアの夜光インデックスは、背が低く横に広くデザインされたいます。

ケースはほとんど痩せが見られず、状態よく残っています。ダイヤルは経年により、反転状の模様を見せています。写真ほどは気になりませんので、ご安心ください。ダイヤルのプリントや夜光塗料は欠けなく現存しています。針は深みのある青と、夜光のベージュカラーが理想的なコンディションです。弊社にて分解掃除済みで、調子良くお使いいただけます。

オメガマリーンは1932 年に発表された、スポーツマンや船乗りにむけて作られた時計。当時水深 70 メートル防水を誇りました。現代で言うダイバーズウォッチを想像すると、大きく回転するベゼルを持った金属の塊を思い浮かべますが、この時計はエレガントなアールデコ調のラインと、マットな質感の美しいレイアウトの文字盤を備えています。防水時計の先駆けと言えるマリーンは真のコレクターズアイテムになっています。

腕時計が普及し始めた1910年代から手巻き、自動巻と変遷を経て、クオーツ時計の開発によって機械式時計が衰退します。それ以前の1960年代に機械式腕時計はひとつのピークに達します。当時は日本でも三種の神器の一つだったオメガの時計。持つ人のステータスとなる高級品で、各メーカーが精度や防水性、耐久性など切磋琢磨し開発した時代。コストをかけて、より良い時計造りのためにしのぎを削っていました。

COMMENT

A rare rectangular model crafted by OMEGA, known as the Marine, is the brand's first diver's watch designed to address the typical vulnerability of water resistance in angular timepieces. This is the second generation of the Marine series. The dial is white, and the minute tracks on the central and outer periphery exhibit different finishes, alternately reflecting light and creating shadows. The Arabic numerals' luminescent indexes are designed to be low and wide, creating a distinctive look.

The case shows minimal signs of wear and remains in excellent condition. The dial displays a pattern resembling inverse shapes due to aging, but it is not as noticeable as in the photos, so rest assured. The dial prints and luminescent coatings are intact without any chips. The hands boast a deep blue color with beige luminescence, presenting an ideal condition. It has been disassembled, cleaned, and is in good working order after servicing by our company.

Introduced in 1932, the OMEGA Marine was a watch designed for sportsmen and sailors, boasting a water resistance of 70 meters at the time. Unlike modern diver's watches that often come to mind with a chunky metal mass featuring a rotating bezel, this timepiece exhibits an elegant Art Deco-inspired design with beautiful matte textures on the dial. As a pioneer in waterproof watches, the Marine has become a true collector's item.

Since the proliferation of wristwatches in the 1910s, transitioning from manual to automatic movements and eventually witnessing the decline of mechanical watches with the development of quartz timepieces, mechanical wristwatches reached their peak in the 1960s.
