1950年代前半に製造されたロンジン。この時計は、戦後の華やかな時代を象徴し、特徴的なラグがパテックフィリップRef.2549 デビルズ・ホーンを想起させます。ケースは直径37.5mmと当時のジャンボサイズで、18金無垢製です。ケースメーカーはEggly & Cieで、当時パテックフィリップやヴァシュロン、オーデマピゲなどの前衛的かつデコラティブなラグを備えたケースを多く製造していました。インデックスのアラビア数字はブレゲ書体で、外周にはパールドロップが配置されています。夜光塗料は使用されておらず、シンプルなドルフィンハンドが採用されています。

搭載ムーブメントCal.23Zは、サイズが23.3ｍｍ、いわゆる10 1/2リーニュのムーブメントです。平ヒゲを用いることの多いロンジンの中で、手間を掛けたブレゲヒゲを搭載しています。円熟期のムーブメントらしく、シャトン留めされたルビー、優美なカーブで面取りされた美しい受けは、妥協のない美術品であると納得できます。

ケースはぽってりとしたラグを良好な状態で保ち、ラグ裏のホールマークもはっきりと残っています。ダイヤルは中央にわずかな経年変化が確認できますが、肉眼ではほとんど気になりませんのでご安心ください。針やインデックスは上面にくすみがなく、良いコンディションです。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

この時計は、コストをかけたケースとダイヤルデザイン、サイズ感、名キャリバーを兼ね備え、当時時計業界を牽引していたロンジンの勢いを感じさせる一品です。

COMMENT

Manufactured in the early 1950s, this Longines watch symbolizes the glamorous post-war era, with distinctive lugs reminiscent of the Patek Philippe Ref. 2549 "Devil’s Horn." The case measures 37.5mm in diameter, making it a jumbo size for its time, and is crafted from solid 18k gold. The case was made by Eggly & Cie, a company known for producing avant-garde and decorative cases for brands like Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, and Audemars Piguet. The Arabic numerals on the indices are in Breguet script, and pearl drops are arranged around the periphery. The simple dauphine hands are free from luminous material.

The movement, Cal. 23Z, measures 23.3mm, known as a 10 1/2 ligne movement. Unlike the typical flat hairsprings used by Longines, this watch features a more intricate Breguet overcoil hairspring. The matured movement showcases screw-set jewels and beautifully beveled bridges, presenting an uncompromising work of art.

The case maintains the voluptuous lugs in excellent condition, with the hallmark clearly visible on the back of the lugs. The dial shows slight ageing in the centre, but this is barely noticeable to the naked eye. The hands and indices are free from tarnish on the upper surfaces, remaining in good condition. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our company.

This watch represents the peak of Longines’ craftsmanship, combining a costly case and dial design, a substantial size, and a renowned calibre, reflecting the brand's leadership in the watch industry of that era.
