機械式時計最盛期、1970製のデイデイトです。金無垢とプラチナのみで展開されているデイデイトは、フルスペルで曜日が表示される初のモデルでした。18金無垢のオイスターケースはフルーテッドベゼルの輝きが美しく重厚感があります。ホワイトゴールドのものは扱いやすく、特に人気が高いです。ダイヤルはサンレイで、シンプルな仕上げなだけに素材の良さが堪能できます。インデックスは6.9時の独自の形状から、ドアストップダイヤルと親しまれている人気のダイヤルデザインです。1970年製ですので、針はバー、6時位置はT SWISS T表記です。

ケースは使用傷が多少ありますが、プロポーションに優れています。2時のラグ裏のホールマークがしっかりと視認できるのがポイントです。ベゼルは3時方向に若干のダメージが見られますが、肉眼ではさほど気になりません。ダイヤルは大変ミントです。美しいコンディションで当時のヘアラインをそのままに残しています。当時のオリジナル針とインデックスは上面の鏡面仕上げが煌びやかに輝きます。このコンディションの良さは、夜光無しモデルであることも一因でしょう。弊社にて分解掃除済みで、パワーリザーブ48時間以上を確認しています。

デイデイトは1956年の発表当時、日付と曜日を表示する世界初の防水性能を備えたクロノメーター自動巻時計でした。ROLEXから35代目アメリカ大統領のアイゼンハワー氏に贈呈されたことを始め、現在でも最高のステータスウォッチとしての地位を確立しています。

This is a Rolex Day-Date from the peak of mechanical watchmaking in 1970. The Day-Date, available only in solid gold and platinum, was the first model to display the day of the week in full spelling. The 18k solid gold Oyster case with its fluted bezel exudes a beautiful shine and a sense of luxury. White gold versions are particularly popular due to their ease of handling. The sunray dial, with its simple finish, allows the quality of the material to shine through. The indices at 6 and 9 o'clock, known for their unique shape, contribute to the popularity of this dial design, affectionately referred to as the "doorstop dial."

While the case shows some signs of use, it maintains excellent proportions. The hallmark on the back of the lug at 2 o'clock is clearly visible. The dial is in excellent condition, preserving the original hairline finish from that era. The original hands and indices shine brightly with their polished finish, a testament to their quality. The lack of luminous material on this model also contributes to its overall pristine condition. It has been disassembled and cleaned by our workshop, ensuring a power reserve of over 48 hours.

The Day-Date, introduced in 1956, was the world's first waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date and day of the week. From being gifted to the 35th President of the United States, Eisenhower, to its current status as the ultimate status watch, the Rolex Day-Date has solidified its position as a symbol of prestige.
