1943年から登場したプレミエ。ラウンドプッシュ、Cal.Venus175搭載を特徴とするRef.777はスナップバックの前期型、スクリューバックの後期型に分かれ、こちらは後期型です。ケースはイエローゴールドなど、ドレスモデル「プレミエ」らしいバリエーションで展開しましたが、シンプルな38mmのステンレススチールと王道の造りです。ダイヤルはこの年式ならではの夜光アラビア。手巻きの2レジスターにミニッツトラックとタキメータースケールを搭載したバランスの良い意匠となっています。

ケースはエッジの効いた素晴らしいプロポーションです。ラグのカッティングがオリジナルの通りに現存し、素晴らしい雰囲気です。ケースバックに小傷こそ見られるものの、刻印が深く残り好印象です。 ダイヤルは最低限のエイジングのみで、程よくクリーム色に焼け良い雰囲気です。厳正に判断しますと、13時インデックス周りに若干の凹みが確認できます。ルミナスが素晴らしいベージュカラーで、水気の侵入はほとんど見られません。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。クロノファンクションも好調な動き出しです。

フランス語で「最初」を意味するプレミエ。ナビタイマーやスーパーオーシャンなどのブライトリングの多くのモデルは1950年代に誕生しましたが、プレミエは1943年製造開始と、かなり古くからコレクション展開されていました。 32mmから38mmまでのサイズ感、金無垢モデルまでも輩出したプレミエは、60年代に登場した若年層に向けたトレンディなタウンユースウォッチ「トップタイム」の20年以上前から様々な顧客のシーンに応えた作品であるに違いありません。

1884年、スイスのサン・ティミエに複雑時計製作の工房が設立されたのが＜BREITLING＞のルーツ。創業者のレオン・ブライトリングはクロノグラフ製作の才能に富み、博覧会では数々の賞を受賞、その名を世間に知らしめました。彼はエンジン飛行機が発展途上であった頃から航空産業の発展を確信し、飛行機のための時計や計器メーカーとして航空産業を支える意志を示しました。その意志を受け継いだ2代目ガストン・ブライトリングは世界初の腕時計型クロノグラフを開発するなど航空産業に多大な貢献をしています。“クロノグラフのスペシャリスト”として確固たる地位を築いた＜BREITLING＞は、今なお世界中で愛されている名門ブランドとして発展し続けています

The Premier, first introduced in 1943, is a classic in Breitling's lineup. This Ref. 777 features the round pushers and Caliber Venus 175, with later models split into two variations: an early snap-back and a later screw-back case. This example is from the latter, featuring a sturdy 38mm stainless steel case, a classic configuration for a dress model. The dial has vintage luminous Arabic numerals, characteristic of this era, along with a manual-wind, two-register layout, a minute track, and a tachymeter scale that together create a well-balanced aesthetic.

The case is sharply contoured, with original lug cuts that maintain its appealing vintage character. While minor scratches are visible on the case back, the engraving remains deep and clear. The dial shows minimal aging, with a gentle cream-colored patina, adding to its allure. Under close inspection, a minor indentation is noticeable near the 13-hour index. The lume has aged to an excellent beige tone, with almost no signs of moisture intrusion. This piece has been fully disassembled and serviced in-house, and the chronograph functions operate smoothly.

Named “Premier” to signify its role as a pioneer, this collection dates back to 1943, predating Breitling’s iconic 1950s models like the Navitimer and SuperOcean. Available in sizes from 32mm to 38mm, and in gold, the Premier catered to diverse customers even before the introduction of the Top Time in the 1960s. It remains a testament to Breitling’s versatility and early understanding of its audience.
