ロレックスが誇るドレスラインのフラッグシップモデル、デイトジャストにスポーティな回転ベゼルが組み合わされた意欲作、通称サンダーバードです。ケースはステンレススチール製で、ベゼルはホワイトゴールド製。控えめなツートーンカラーが洗練された印象を与えます。ダイヤルはシルバーのサンレイ仕上げで、シンプルな鏡面仕上げのバーインデックスがティピカルな意匠となっています。1965年製のこちらは、後年には消えてしまう希少なアルファハンドを採用しています。ロレックス純正のフォールデッドジュビリーブレスレット、クラスプデイト70/1、エンドリンク55が付属します。

このモデルのケースはプロポーションを損なっておらず、太く長いラグが迫力を保っています。打痕などの損傷は見られず、良好な状態です。ダメージを受けやすいベゼルも精緻なエッジが際立っています。ダイヤルは高倍率のルーペで確認すると、わずかながらポツポツとした経年変化が見られますが、肉眼ではほとんど気になりません。針やインデックス、アプライドの王冠ロゴはメッキの剥がれがなく、キラキラと輝いて瑞々しい状態を保っています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

The case is made of stainless steel, while the bezel is crafted from white gold, offering a refined two-tone appearance. The dial features a silver sunray finish, complemented by simple, mirror-finished bar indices—a quintessential design. This particular piece from 1965 includes the rare alpha hands, which would disappear in later models. It comes with an original Rolex folded Jubilee bracelet, clasp date 70/1, and end links 55.

The case of this model retains its proportions, with thick and long lugs maintaining a robust presence. There are no signs of dents or damage, and it remains in excellent condition. The bezel, which is prone to wear, still showcases its sharp edges. Upon close inspection with a high-magnification loupe, the dial reveals minimal patina, but it is barely noticeable to the naked eye. The hands, indices, and applied crown logo show no signs of plating loss, shining brilliantly and retaining a fresh appearance. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our company.

The Thunderbird traces its roots back to the original sports model, the Turn-O-Graph, evolving through Ref. 6609 to establish its unique sport-dress hybrid style. While the difficulty of obtaining sports models has significantly increased in recent years, the Thunderbird appears to be on the verge of a price surge. Named after the U.S. Air Force's Thunderbirds squadron, this model combines cultural significance with a design that makes it a coveted piece for collectors.
