UNIVERSAL GENEVE COMPAX

COMMENT

COMMENT

This Universal Genève chronograph model, the Compax, features a rose gold-filled case that exudes the warmth and charm reminiscent of the 1950s. The dial is a vertically brushed white with a tachymeter scale and finely detailed minute markers around the outer edge, accompanied by bold Arabic numerals. The dial is dressy, with no luminous material, and paired with solid leaf hands for a refined appearance. The in-house Cal. 285 movement powers this watch, a classic column-wheel chronograph mechanism renowned for its robustness and fine finishing. This movement was also trusted by brands like Zenith, attesting to its reliability.

The case shows some wear with the gold plating slightly peeling in areas, though it remains subtle and is less noticeable under normal lighting conditions. The dial is in exceptional condition, with only faint aging visible under magnification, preserving its original texture. Although this was never a waterproof model, there are no signs of water damage, indicating it has been well cared for. The hands and indices display a light patina that complements the dial's vintage aesthetic. The watch has been fully serviced by our team and comes with a one-year warranty, ensuring you can enjoy this vintage timepiece with confidence.

This is an iconic example of a 1950s dress chronograph, offering a unique opportunity to own a piece from Universal Genève's golden era, preserved in excellent condition.
