オメガは1950年代末期に多くの名品を生み出しました。ユゲニン・フレアー（HF=Huguenin Freres）製のケースで、フォルムはシーマスター2型。新型キャリバー500系と共に生み出された、芸術的なデザインです。ラグ側面がケースと一体のラインを構成しており、堅牢ながらモダンで洗練された曲線を描いています。ダイヤルは電着塗装によるホワイト、きめ細やかな質感は高級感があります。アプライドのバーインデックス×ドルフィンハンドの王道スタイルです。Ref.14710は文字盤は針とインデックスの間に黒色を用いたオニキスタイプが多い中、こちらはそれを配さないよりシンプルなタイプとなっています。ブレスレットはビーズオブライス、バックルがスライド式の、珍しい初期のものを装備しています。ムーブメントはオメガ初の全回転自動巻きキャリバー501を搭載。巻き上げ効率や精度が安定しており、日常的に使い易いのが魅力です。

ケースは程よく小傷が見られますが、ケースプロポーションが良いので、迫力を感じます。これから使用していくのにちょうど良い使用感です。ダイヤルは大変美しい状態を維持しています。焼けなどによる色づきは見られず、プレーンなフェイスを堪能できます。針は若干の経年変化が確認できます。インデックス、アプライドのオメガロゴは上面にくすみがなく、光の反射が煌びやかです。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

日付機能搭載が一般的となったこの時代、2型ケースノンデイトRef.14710のステンレスモデルは生産数が非常に少ないです。安定した精度でシンメトリーなフェイスを楽しめる、現代のニーズにもマッチした日常使いに長けた逸品。

Omega produced many masterpieces during the late 1950s. This model features a case made by Huguenin Frères (HF), with a design similar to the Seamaster 2 series. Created alongside the new calibre 500 series, it boasts an artistic design. The lugs form a seamless line with the case, offering a robust yet modern and refined curve. The dial is white, achieved through electroplating, with a fine texture that exudes luxury. The classic combination of applied bar indices and dauphine hands further enhances its timeless elegance. While the Ref. 14710 often features an onyx-style dial with black detailing between the hands and indices, this version opts for a simpler design without those details. The watch is equipped with a beads-of-rice bracelet and an unusual sliding clasp. Inside is Omega's first fully-rotating automatic calibre 501, known for its winding efficiency and stable accuracy, making it ideal for daily use.

The case shows moderate signs of wear, but the excellent case proportions give it a strong presence. It has just the right amount of patina to enjoy as a daily wear piece. The dial remains in beautiful condition, without any discolouration or patina. The hands show minor signs of ageing, while the indices and applied Omega logo are free from tarnish, reflecting light brilliantly. The watch has been fully serviced by us.

During an era when date functions became standard, the stainless steel, non-date Ref. 14710 with its Type 2 case was produced in very limited numbers. With its symmetrical face and reliable accuracy, this is a piece that suits modern needs and is perfect for everyday wear.
