OMEGA Seamaster Big Seahorse Powder White Dial Ref.2846 13SC

COMMENT

COMMENT

The matte white dial is set with dauphine hands and diamond-shaped indexes, accented by double markers at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock to create a visual rhythm and subtle emphasis. By keeping the indexes slightly understated in size, the dial achieves a spacious and composed appearance. The minute track sits neatly within the indexes, its proportions well-balanced with the length of the seconds hand, ensuring clarity and order in legibility. The case features a screw-back design, distinguished by the large Seahorse emblem—a hallmark produced only for a very short period. Inside beats Omega’s Cal. 501, the brand’s signature full-rotor automatic caliber, celebrated for its accuracy and ease of maintenance.

The case shows little sign of wear, with no prominent scratches around the screw-back, maintaining a clean overall appearance. The dial exhibits only subtle patina from age, preserving a refined and fresh impression. The hands remain free of tarnish, their faceted surfaces catching the light crisply. The indexes are similarly well-preserved, without damage, shining with a clear and attractive brilliance. Serviced and disassembled by our watchmaker.

The powder-white dial possesses a soft texture that reveals a depth and presence difficult to capture in photographs. The Cal. 501, produced during the maturity of Omega’s full-rotor development, is notable for both its practicality and ease of maintenance. It offers the enjoyment of vintage individuality while retaining the dependability required for daily use. Classical yet imbued with its own aesthetic character, this is a piece equally suited for collection or everyday wear.
