This 1950s Omega Seamaster embodies the refined strength characteristic of the era’s design language. The wide bezel and robust lugs create a harmonious architectural balance, giving the watch a bold yet understated presence. Its vertically striped “tapestry” dial—an uncommon and intricate finish—shifts subtly under changing light, offering a delicate interplay of texture and tone. The combination of sharply faceted bar indexes and polished dauphine hands ensures both clarity and visual sophistication. It is fitted with the original Omega beads-of-rice bracelet, Ref.1036, with No.11 end links.
The case shows only light surface wear, free from any major blemishes. The polished planes retain their integrity, while the soft diffusion of light across faint hairlines adds a gentle vintage character. The dial has gracefully aged to a warm champagne tone, radiating a subdued elegance. Both the hands and indexes remain crisp and reflective, preserving the watch’s refined overall impression. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.
Seamasters with tapestry dials are exceptionally rare, produced in limited numbers compared to their contemporaries. This model combines the practical excellence of a daily timepiece with a distinct design identity, offering enduring appeal for modern wear. A true representative of Omega’s golden age, it captures the timeless charm and craftsmanship that define mid-century Swiss watchmaking.
