国産最高峰の「グランドセイコー」のセカンドモデル。セカンドモデルが発売されたのはファーストモデルの発売から4年経った1964年。ファーストモデルと比較すると、カレンダー機能（早送り機能付き）を搭載、ケース裏蓋を圧入式のスナップバックからねじ込み式のスクリューバックに変更することで、防水性能も50m防水（当時性能）に対応してより実用性が向上しています。ムーブメントはCal.5722Bを搭載しています。

ケースは使用に伴う傷が見られますが、ケースの重厚感は一切損なわれておりません。ダイヤルはエイジングの影響を受けておらず、シルバーの美しいコンディションを保っています。針とインデックスは小キズは見られるものの、くすみのない輝きを放つ状態です。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

鏡面仕上げされた多面カットの針とインデックスは、上品な輝きを放つ文字盤とのマッチングが美しく、着用しているだけでもオーナーのセンスをワンランクアップしてくれる逸品です。ステンレス製のケース素材にラグを太く設計したことで、耐久性も向上し、機能性、素材、デザインから生まれる満足感は充分。

COMMENT

This is the second-generation model of Grand Seiko, Seiko’s flagship domestic watch line. Introduced in 1964, four years after the original Grand Seiko, the second model brought a number of practical improvements. Compared with its predecessor, it added a date display with quick-set adjustment, while the caseback was changed from a snap-back construction to a screw-down design, providing water resistance rated to 50 meters at the time. It is powered by the Cal. 5722B movement.

The case shows scratches from normal use, but retains its substantial proportions and presence. The silver dial has been remarkably well preserved, with no significant signs of aging and a clean overall appearance. The hands and indexes show some minor scratches, but retain a bright finish without noticeable tarnishing. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

The polished, multi-faceted hands and indexes complement the refined sheen of the silver dial particularly well. Combined with the stainless-steel case and substantial lugs, the design offers both durability and a strong sense of solidity on the wrist. Its balance of functionality, materials, and restrained design makes this an especially satisfying example of early Grand Seiko.
