KING SEIKO Ref.4402-8000

COMMENT

COMMENT

The dial features a radially brushed finish that lends a classical character and refined presence. The hands are the signature three-faceted dauphine style emblematic of Seiko, while the indexes are likewise constructed with triple facets. Their carefully executed surface treatment allows them to reflect light from multiple angles, producing a dynamic brilliance. The movement is equipped with a hacking function and offers both quick-set and quick-change date adjustment, underscoring its practical design.

The case shows only light wear and retains its polished lines in very good condition. The crown area remains clean and undamaged. The dial has some small dark spots visible under close inspection, though they are not distracting in regular use. The hands remain sharp and free from tarnish, preserving their mirror-like finish. The indexes show only minor marks, maintaining a clear and elegant look overall. Serviced and disassembled by our watchmaker.

Ref. 4402-8000 belongs to the second generation of King Seiko models, introduced in 1961. In March 1968, the watch was manufactured during the same period when Seiko proved its superior precision at the Neuchâtel Observatory Trials in Switzerland, surpassing many competitors. This piece embodies Seiko’s pursuit of the highest accuracy standards. Its clean, simple design pairs seamlessly with tailored attire, making it both a refined daily wearer and a sophisticated addition to any wardrobe.
