The dial is crafted from a titanium base and finished with a blue mosaic print, creating a unique texture reminiscent of sodalite. Its delicate gradations form a richly nuanced surface that shifts beautifully with the angle of light, evoking the shimmer of sunlight dancing across water. The ultra-thin tonneau case in 18K white gold features a silk-like brushed finish on its upper surface, allowing the supple character of white gold to be fully appreciated. The watch is fitted with an original Vacheron Constantin leather strap and buckle.
Powering the watch is the Cal. K1014, a high-grade movement derived from the Jaeger-LeCoultre Cal. 818 and used exclusively by Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin at the time. Adjusted to five positions and temperature, it offers the precision and reliability expected of a top-tier dress watch.
The case remains in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear. The fine brushing on the upper surface is beautifully preserved, the case edges are crisp, and the hallmarks on the caseback retain strong visibility—testament to the integrity of its gold construction. The rare mosaic dial shows no signs of color loss or degradation, maintaining its original depth and texture. The indexes are well-preserved and remain clean and balanced. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.
The lyrical blue dial—evocative of Monet’s Water Lilies—represents a point where artistic expression and horological craftsmanship converge. Production numbers were extremely limited, and examples with this dial are scarcely seen today. Its delicate color composition, paired with its exceptional preservation, imparts a sense of serene stillness, as if time itself were suspended. Beneath its captivating surface lies a meticulously maintained case and movement, whose unified excellence underscores the stature of this remarkable piece.
