OMEGA CONSTELLATION REF.14381 9SC

COMMENT

COMMENT

Distinguished by the refined simplicity unique to a no-date configuration, this Constellation presents a sophisticated and timeless aesthetic. Models from this era are celebrated for their diverse dial variations, reflecting the design sensibilities of their time. The white dial is adorned with dauphine hands, applied bar indexes, and crosshair lines, each accented with black inlays at their centers to enhance legibility. Free from excessive ornamentation, the composition offers a poised and elegant presence on the wrist.

Powering the watch is the chronometer-certified Cal. 551, a second-generation automatic movement equipped with a full-rotor winding system. As part of Omega’s renowned 550-series calibers, it embodies a rationalized design that eliminates superfluous components while achieving outstanding precision and durability. This high level of mechanical refinement enabled greater freedom in case and dial design, resulting in a balanced and harmonious aesthetic.

The case remains in clear condition, free from dents or notable damage, with only minimal signs of wear around the caseback. The dial is exceptionally well preserved, while the hands and indexes exhibit no signs of tarnish, reflecting light with remarkable brilliance. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Meaning “constellation,” this model symbolizes Omega’s pursuit of ultimate precision combined with automatic winding excellence. Created during an era when accuracy was regarded as the highest virtue in watchmaking, it stands as one of the brand’s most distinguished achievements.

The automatic movements of this generation are highly efficient, rarely requiring manual winding. The original Constellation crown prioritizes design, and while manual winding may feel slightly firm, this characteristic reflects the original specification and poses no functional concern.
