放射状に広がるサンレイ仕上げダイヤルに、立体的なアラビアインデックスを配したRef.168.004。アラビアインデックスは上面を梨地仕上げとし、センターに稜線を通すことで光を受けた際に陰影が強調され、奥行きのある立体的な表情を生み出します。12時下のクロノメーター表記と6時位置の星のエンブレムが、コンステレーションの系譜を端的に示すレイアウト。ドーフィンハンドと縁取りされたデイト窓が均整よく配置され、視認性と端正さを両立しています。

クロノメーターCal.561を搭載。21時から1時の間で針を往復させることで日付を早送りできる機構を備え、五姿勢および温度調整が施された高精度ムーブメントです。500系自動巻の完成度を高めた世代として評価が高く、自動巻効率にも優れています。

ダイヤルは質感を損なう劣化が見られず、ブラックプリントは鮮明に現存しています。インデックスのエッジは立体感を保っています。ケースはラグの面構成が整い、裏蓋の天文台メダリオンは明瞭です。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

1960年代におけるアラビアインデックス仕様は流通数が限られ、バーインデックス主体の個体と比較して明らかに希少なバリエーションです。クラシカルな数字表記がもたらす柔らかな印象と、クロノメーター機としての確かな性能が同居する点に、この個体ならではの魅力があります。同年代のコンステレーションの中でも、コレクション性を意識する際に外せない一本です。

オリジナルのコンステレーション竜頭は意匠を優先した設計で、手巻き時にやや重さを感じることがありますが、当時の仕様によるものです。

Ref.168.004 features a sunburst dial radiating outward from the center, complemented by applied Arabic numerals of pronounced dimension. The numerals are finished with a matte upper surface and a central ridge, creating strong contrast and depth when catching the light. The chronometer designation beneath 12 o’clock and the applied star above 6 o’clock succinctly affirm its Constellation lineage. Dauphine hands and a framed date aperture are arranged in balanced proportion, achieving both clarity and refinement.

It is powered by the chronometer-rated Cal.561, adjusted to five positions and temperature. The movement incorporates a semi-quickset date mechanism, allowing the date to be advanced by repeatedly moving the hands back and forth between approximately 9 PM and 1 AM. As part of the highly regarded 500-series automatics, Cal.561 is celebrated for its precision and efficient winding performance.

The dial shows no deterioration that would compromise its texture, and the black printing remains crisp. The applied indexes retain their sculptural definition. The case preserves well-defined lugs, and the observatory medallion on the caseback remains sharp. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Arabic numeral variants from the 1960s were produced in smaller numbers compared to the more common baton-index examples, making this a distinctly rarer configuration. The classical warmth introduced by the Arabic numerals, combined with the assured performance of a chronometer movement, gives this piece a character unique within its generation. Among contemporaneous Constellations, it stands out as a particularly compelling example for the discerning collector.

The original Constellation crown prioritizes design integrity; as a result, manual winding may feel slightly firm, which is consistent with period specification.
