CARTIER LM SANTOS OCTAGON Ref.187902 W.BOX

COMMENT

COMMENT

The Santos, distinguished by its screw-set bezel and bracelet, stands as one of Cartier’s signature design codes. The dial presents a matte, pale ivory tone, with minute track, Roman numerals, and circular line arranged in disciplined symmetry. Blued steel baton hands and the cabochon-set crown create a cohesive chromatic accent, lending the watch a composed and refined character.

The hairline finish across the upper case surface is even, while the polished facet separating it from the case sides remains intact. Minor impact marks are visible along the sides, yet the brushing retains a clean appearance. The dial shows no notable damage, and the Roman indexes preserve their gloss. The hands remain free from scratches or tarnish, and the indexes show no loss. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

The LM-size Santos Octagon has become increasingly scarce in recent years. Its flat-cut bracelet generates shifting contrasts of light, giving it a presence akin to a piece of jewelry. Equipped with a quartz movement and date display, it offers dependable precision alongside its distinctive aesthetic, balancing design and practicality with ease.

BRAND

Cartier introduced the Santos in the early 1900s at the request of aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, who sought a wristwatch readable during flight. The Santos Octagon, with its distinctive eight-sided bezel, carries that lineage forward while expressing Cartier’s refined jeweler’s sensibility. The faceted bracelet catches the light with every movement, achieving elegance through restraint.
