1960年代後半に登場した、セイコー 5スポーツの自動巻モデルです。23石のCal.5126Aを搭載し、3時位置には曜日・日付表示を備えています。ブラックダイヤルにスクエア型のミニッツマーカーと太いバーインデックスを配し、赤いセンターセコンドがアクセントを添えます。外周には回転ベゼルを備え、12時位置の夜光ポイントと大胆な目盛りが、スポーツウォッチらしい表情を際立たせています。文字盤には当時の防水性能を示す「WATER 70 PROOF」の表記が残ります。

ケースには使用に伴う小傷が見られますが、厚みのあるフォルムと輪郭はよく保たれています。ベゼルには経年による擦れが見られる一方、目盛りや夜光ポイントが残り、ブラックダイヤルとの印象的なコントラストを楽しめます。文字盤は落ち着いた色調を保ち、インデックスや曜日・日付表示も明瞭です。長い年月を経たヴィンテージとして、モデル本来のスポーティーな雰囲気をよく伝える個体です。

本モデルは、初代『仮面ライダー』の劇中で主人公・本郷猛が着用した時計としても知られ、後年「仮面ライダー」の愛称で親しまれてきました。セイコーも後年の復刻モデルでRef.5126-8090のデザインを再現しており、時代を越えて受け継がれる造形の魅力がうかがえます。

Introduced in the late 1960s, this Seiko 5 Sports automatic model is powered by the 23-jewel Cal. 5126A and features a day-date display at 3 o’clock. The black dial is arranged with square minute markers and substantial baton indexes, accented by a red central seconds hand. A rotating bezel surrounds the dial, with a luminous marker at 12 o’clock and bold graduations reinforcing its sporting character. The dial also retains the period “WATER 70 PROOF” inscription.

The case shows minor scratches from use, while retaining its substantial profile and well-defined shape. The bezel displays some wear consistent with age, though its graduations and luminous marker remain visible, providing an attractive contrast against the black dial. The dial retains an even, subdued tone, with the indexes and day-date display remaining clear. Overall, the watch preserves the sporting character of the original design.

This model is also known for having been worn by Takeshi Hongo, the protagonist of the original Kamen Rider television series, and has since become known by the same nickname among enthusiasts. Seiko later revisited the design of Ref. 5126-8090 in a modern reissue, reflecting the enduring appeal of its distinctive styling.
