初代キングセイコーの後期型、Ref.15034です。前期型からケース径を1mm拡大して36mmとし、ラグも太く変更。ラグ上面に設けた斜めのファセットと、力強さを増したケース造形には、後の44KSへ続くデザインの変化が感じられます。シルバーダイヤルには放射状のヘアライン仕上げを施し、12時位置の二連インデックスと幅広のバーインデックス、鋭いドーフィンハンドを組み合わせています。6時位置には「DIASHOCK 25 JEWELS」の表記と星のマークが配され、ムーブメントは25石の手巻きです。

ケースには使用に伴う小傷や擦れが見られますが、ラグの厚みや斜めのファセット、ケースの輪郭はよく保たれています。シルバーダイヤルは繊細な筋目と落ち着いた色調が残り、経年による小さな点状の変化も含め、ヴィンテージらしい表情を備えています。針やインデックスも整った状態で、ダイヤル全体を端正に見せています。裏蓋のシールドメダリオンも確認できます。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

キングセイコーは、同時期に諏訪精工舎で製造されていたグランドセイコーに対抗する高級機として設計されたことで知られています。初代はロービートの手巻きムーブメントを採用しながら高精度を追求し、第二精工舎の技術を示しました。Ref.15034のケース径とラグの変更には、初代の意匠を受け継ぎつつ、後の44KSへと向かう造形上の展開が表れています。

COMMENT

This King Seiko Ref. 15034 is the later version of the first-generation model. The case was enlarged by 1mm from the earlier version to 36mm, while the lugs were made broader. Their angled upper facets and the more substantial case profile anticipate the styling later developed for the 44KS. The silver dial has a radial brushed finish, complemented by a double index at 12 o’clock, broad applied baton indexes, and sharply defined dauphine hands. The “DIASHOCK 25 JEWELS” signature and star emblem appear at 6 o’clock, while the watch is powered by a 25-jewel manual-winding movement.

The case shows minor scratches and wear from use, while the thickness of the lugs, their angled facets, and the overall case profile remain well preserved. The silver dial retains its fine brushed texture and subdued tone. Small age-related spots lend it a natural vintage character. The hands and indexes remain in good condition, preserving the dial’s clean and composed appearance. The shield medallion on the case back also remains visible. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

King Seiko is known as a high-grade collection developed by Daini Seikosha in response to Grand Seiko, which was produced concurrently by Suwa Seikosha. Despite using a low-beat manual-winding movement, the first-generation model was designed with a strong emphasis on precision and demonstrated Daini Seikosha’s technical capabilities. The larger case and broader lugs of the Ref. 15034 retain the character of the original King Seiko while clearly showing the stylistic progression that would lead to the later 44KS.
