COMMENT

グランドセイコー初の自動巻モデル、通称62GS。ケースは流線型のシェイプが美しい意匠で、自動巻機構の搭載によりリューズ操作が少なくなったため、4時位置に配しスタイリッシュなトータルデザインとなっています。ケースバックはGSメダリオンです。ダイヤルはシルバーのサンレイ、文字盤外周は一段下がり手が込んでいます。バーインデックスは上面に鏡面仕上げが施されたもので、外側にはカッティングを入れて立体感を出しています。ドルフィンハンドはシンプルで、クラシカルな面持ちです。デイデイト機能のカレンダーは土曜は青色、日曜は赤色の表示です。

ケースはラグ周りに打痕が見られますが、全体のシルエットは崩れておらず、ケース上面のエッジもしっかりと保たれています。シルバーダイヤルは美しい状態を維持しており、光を受けることで上品な反射を見せます。針とインデックスにはわずかな傷が見られるものの、いずれも輝きのある良好な状態です。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

1966年には62GSはグランドセイコー表記が入り、伝説が幕開けます。国産時計の最上位機を当時のコンディションのままお楽しみください。

COMMENT

The 62GS, commonly known by its reference family name, was Grand Seiko’s first automatic model. Its case is defined by a flowing, streamlined profile, and with the automatic movement reducing the need for frequent crown operation, the crown was positioned at four o’clock to create a cleaner and more integrated overall design. The caseback is fitted with a GS medallion. The silver dial features a sunburst finish, with a recessed outer track that adds subtle depth. The applied baton indexes are polished across the top and faceted along the outer edges, while the simple dolphin hands give the watch a classic appearance. The day-date display shows Saturday in blue and Sunday in red.

The case shows some impact marks around the lugs, but the overall silhouette remains intact and the edges across the upper case are still well defined. The silver dial remains in beautiful condition and produces a refined reflection under changing light. The hands and indexes show only minor scratches and retain a bright, well-preserved finish. In 1966, the 62GS appeared with Grand Seiko branding, marking an important chapter in the development of the line. This example offers the opportunity to enjoy one of Japan’s highest-grade watches from the period in a well-preserved vintage condition.
