COMMENT

1950年代に製造されたオメガ・コンステレーション、Ref.2852-2 SCです。この年代には複数のメーカーが「パウダーホワイト」と呼ばれる白色ダイヤルを手掛けましたが、いずれも生産数は限られており、現存数の少ない希少な仕様として知られています。本個体は繊細な質感を備えたホワイトダイヤルにクロスラインを配し、ダイヤモンドを思わせる多面カットのインデックスとドーフィンハンドを組み合わせています。6時位置のスターモチーフも初期コンステレーションを象徴する意匠です。ムーブメントは自動巻きクロノメーターCal.501を搭載します。

ケースは使用に伴う傷が見られますが、ラグの立体的な造形と全体のシルエットは良好に保たれています。ダイヤルはわずかな経年変化が見られるものの、パウダーホワイト特有の柔らかな色調が残り、クロスラインや各種プリントも明瞭です。ファセットの施されたインデックスは角度によって鋭く光を反射し、ドーフィンハンドとともに輝きのある状態を維持しています。裏蓋の天文台メダリオンは良好に残っています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

柔らかなホワイトダイヤルとシャープなゴールドカラーのインデックスが美しい対照を見せる一本です。初期コンステレーションらしい端正なケースとクロノメーター仕様のムーブメントを備え、外装の意匠と機械の双方を楽しめます。生産数の限られたパウダーホワイトダイヤルという点でも、コレクションとして魅力のある個体です。

COMMENT

Dating from the 1950s, this Omega Constellation Ref. 2852-2 SC is fitted with what is commonly referred to as a “powder white” dial. Several manufacturers produced white dials of this type during the period, though production appears to have been limited, and surviving examples are seldom encountered. The finely textured white dial is accented by crosshairs, diamond-like faceted indexes, and dauphine hands. The star emblem at 6 o’clock is another defining detail of early Constellation models. Inside is the automatic chronometer-rated Cal. 501.

The case shows scratches from use, though the sculpted form of the lugs and the overall silhouette remain well preserved. The dial displays slight signs of age but retains the soft tone characteristic of a powder white finish, while the crosshairs and other printing remain clear. The faceted indexes reflect the light sharply from different angles, and both they and the dauphine hands retain an attractive sheen. The observatory medallion on the caseback is also well preserved. The soft white dial forms a striking contrast with the sharply defined gold-tone indexes. Combining the clean proportions of an early Constellation with a chronometer-rated movement, this watch offers equal interest in both its exterior design and mechanics. Its limited-production powder white dial further enhances its appeal as a collectible example.

BRAND

Introduced in 1952, the Constellation remains one of Omega’s core collections. It represented the brand’s vision of a technically accomplished dress watch, combining precision with an elegant and understated design.
