本機は1970年前後のコンステレーションに見られる、樽型のCラインケースを備えたモデル。ジェラルド・ジェンタがデザインを手がけたとされるこのケースは、直線と曲線を組み合わせた洗練されたフォルムが特徴です。後期型のガラス型風防に対し、本機は前期型らしいドーム型風防を備え、よりクラシカルな雰囲気を楽しめます。細かなフルーテッドベゼルが華やかさを添え、ハイエンドモデルらしい上品な印象を与えます。ダイヤルはシルバーのサンレイ仕上げで、バーインデックスとペンシルハンドはブラックのアクセントが入り、視認性にも優れています。

ムーブメントには、自動巻クロノメーターのCal.564を搭載しています。550番台以降のオメガ自動巻キャリバーは、堅牢性と整備性を備えながら、より薄く洗練された設計へと進化した世代です。Cal.564はクロノメーター規格を通過した高精度ムーブメントで、デイト表示も備え、日常使いしやすい実用性を備えています。端正なダイヤルデザインと信頼性の高いムーブメントが組み合わさり、当時のコンステレーションらしい完成度を感じさせます。

ケースは使用感が少ない状態で光の反射によっては油膜のような虹色が確認できます。ラグのエッジ部分に見られる鏡面の面取りがきれいに残っており、Cラインケースの立体感が保たれています。サンレイダイヤルは良好なコンディションで、光を受けた際の放射状の反射が美しく、フルーテッドベゼルとよく調和しています。インデックスと針のブラック部分、鏡面仕上げにエイジングは見られず、当時の雰囲気をしっかりと残しています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

COMMENT

This example features the tonneau-shaped C-line case seen on Constellation models from around 1970. Often attributed to Gérald Genta, the case is defined by a refined form that combines straight lines with gentle curves. While later examples are fitted with a flatter crystal, this watch retains the earlier-style domed crystal, giving it a more classical appearance. The finely fluted bezel adds a touch of brightness and gives the watch the elegant presence expected of a high-end model. The dial is finished in silver sunburst, while the baton indexes and pencil hands are accented in black, providing excellent legibility.

The watch is powered by the automatic chronometer Cal.564. Omega’s automatic calibers from the 550 series onward represented an evolved generation, combining robustness and serviceability with a slimmer and more refined construction. The Cal.564 is a high-precision movement certified to chronometer standards, and its date display adds practical functionality for daily use. Together with the clean dial design and reliable movement, it reflects the quality and completeness expected of a Constellation from this period.

The case shows only light signs of use. The polished bevels along the edges of the lugs remain cleanly preserved, maintaining the three-dimensional character of the C-line case. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with beautiful radial reflections under the light that pair well with the fluted bezel. The black accents on the indexes and hands, as well as the polished surfaces, show no noticeable aging, allowing the watch to retain a strong sense of its original period character. With its refined exterior finishing, chronometer-grade movement, and practical everyday usability, this is an excellent vintage Omega that captures the appeal of the Constellation line.
