1965年に生産された国産初の150m防水ダイバーズウォッチ、Ref.6217-8001。通称「62MAS」として知られ、国内外で高い評価を受ける名作です。ケースは角ばったCライン、ベゼルは両方向回転式、裏蓋はスクリューバック構造。サンレイダイヤルが、落ち着きと深みのある印象を与えています。ムーブメントには手巻き機構を持たない全自動巻きのCal.6217Aを搭載。リューズを一段引くことで日付のクイックチェンジが可能な、実用性に優れた仕様です。

ケースはエッジがしっかりと立った素晴らしいコンディションで、ラグ上面のヘアラインも美しく保たれています。ベゼルは艶やかな状態を維持しており、ケース全体の輪郭は良好です。ダイヤルはエイジングが最小限に抑えられ、目立った色味の変化や黒ずみは見られません。針やインデックスは良好な状態を保っており、夜光塗料は色味の変化が最小です。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

ガードのないビッグリューズなどのディテールは、ヴィンテージダイバーズウォッチ愛好家にとって垂涎の要素です。この62MASを起点として、植村ダイバーや63ダイバーなど、セイコーを代表する名作ダイバーズが次々と登場していきます。セイコーダイバーズ史の原点として、極めて重要な一本です。

Produced in 1965, the Ref. 6217-8001 was Japan’s first diver’s watch rated to 150 meters of water resistance. Commonly known as the “62MAS,” it has become one of Seiko’s most highly regarded vintage sports watches among collectors in Japan and abroad. The case has a squared C-shaped profile, while the bezel rotates in both directions and the caseback uses a screw-down construction. The sunburst dial gives the watch a restrained yet deep appearance. It is powered by the automatic Cal. 6217A, which does not feature manual winding. Pulling the crown to the first position allows for quick adjustment of the date, adding useful everyday functionality.

The case remains in excellent condition, with sharp, well-defined edges and beautifully preserved brushing across the tops of the lugs. The bezel retains a glossy finish, and the overall case profile remains strong. The dial shows minimal aging, with no noticeable discoloration or darkening. The hands and indexes are also well preserved, and the lume has undergone only minimal color change. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Details such as the large unguarded crown are particularly desirable among collectors of vintage dive watches. The 62MAS laid the foundation for many of Seiko’s later landmark divers, including the so-called Uemura diver and the 63 diver. As the starting point of Seiko’s dive-watch history, it remains an especially important model.
