COMMENT

COMMENT
The dial is structured with gold bars dividing the surface, each section filled with mother-of-pearl. As light shifts, the dial reveals changing expressions, lending a quiet radiance to the wrist. The linear rhythm of the design and the natural luster of the material take center stage, allowing the dial itself to define the character of the watch. The original strap and buckle are fitted, preserving the atmosphere of the period.
As this is a NOS example, it remains in outstanding condition, preserving the atmosphere of its era. The case shows only the faintest storage marks, with no distortion to its overall silhouette. The original finishing retains its texture and crisp edges, allowing the sculptural depth of the design to be fully appreciated. The dial presents no irregularities in the printing or visible flaws, and the characteristic iridescence of the mother-of-pearl is expressed naturally. The hands retain their brightness and remain in excellent condition.
The appeal of the Polo lies in expressing refinement from a different angle than conventional dress watches. Rather than relying on ornamentation, it builds dignity through material contrast and surface composition, achieving versatility without excess. The combination of gold bars and mother-of-pearl settles into a composed, metropolitan elegance rather than overt flamboyance. It is a piece whose design quality reveals itself more deeply over time.
