BREITLING Navitimer Ref.806は航空計算用の回転計算尺を備えた、ブライトリングを代表するヴィンテージクロノグラフです。ブラックミラーダイヤルにホワイトのインダイヤルを組み合わせた精悍なフェイスで、外周には飛行計算に用いる複雑なスケールが緻密に配されています。夜光塗料の12バーインデックス、ホワイトの時分針が視認性を高め、ナビタイマーらしい機能美をしっかりと感じられる構成です。ムーブメントは手巻きクロノグラフCal.Venus 178を搭載しています。

ケースは使用に伴う小傷が見られますが、全体として良好なコンディションを保っています。ラグのラインはしっかりと残り、回転ベゼルの刻みも明瞭です。ダイヤルは非常に良い状態で、ブラックミラー特有の艶をしっかりと保っています。ナビタイマーは回転計算尺ベゼルを備える構造上、防水性よりも操作性を優先した時計であるため、ここまで良好なダイヤルコンディションで残る個体は多くありません。夜光も黒く変色しておらず、インデックスと針は自然な色合いを保っています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

本個体には当時のBREITLING GENEVE刻印入りレザーストラップとバックル、さらに使い方説明書が付属します。Cal.Venus 178は、3カウンター構成のクラシックな手巻きクロノグラフで、ナビタイマーの機能的なデザインを支える重要なムーブメントです。ブラックミラーダイヤル、良好な夜光、当時の付属品が揃ったRef.806は、ヴィンテージブライトリングの魅力をしっかり味わえる内容の濃い一本です。

1884年、スイスのサン・ティミエに複雑時計製作の工房が設立されたのが＜BREITLING＞のルーツ。創業者のレオン・ブライトリングはクロノグラフ製作の才能に富み、博覧会では数々の賞を受賞、その名を世間に知らしめました。彼はエンジン飛行機が発展途上であった頃から航空産業の発展を確信し、飛行機のための時計や計器メーカーとして航空産業を支える意志を示しました。その意志を受け継いだ2代目ガストン・ブライトリングは世界初の腕時計型クロノグラフを開発するなど航空産業に多大な貢献をしています。“クロノグラフのスペシャリスト”として確固たる地位を築いた＜BREITLING＞は、今なお世界中で愛されている名門ブランドとして発展し続けています。

COMMENT

The BREITLING Navitimer Ref.806 is one of Breitling’s representative vintage chronographs, equipped with a rotating slide-rule bezel for aviation calculations. The black mirror dial, paired with white sub-dials, gives the watch a sharp and purposeful appearance, while the outer section is densely arranged with complex scales used for flight calculations. Luminous baton indexes and white hour and minute hands provide strong legibility, allowing the functional beauty of the Navitimer to be fully appreciated. The watch is powered by the hand-wound Venus 178 chronograph movement.

The case shows minor scratches from use, but remains in good overall condition. The lug lines are well preserved, and the knurling on the rotating bezel remains clearly defined. The dial is in excellent condition, retaining the gloss characteristic of a black mirror dial. Due to the structure of the Navitimer, which prioritizes operation of the slide-rule bezel over water resistance, examples with dials preserved this well are not often seen. The luminous material has not darkened, and both the indexes and hands retain a natural tone. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

This example comes with a period leather strap stamped BREITLING GENEVE, its buckle, and the instruction manual. The Venus 178 is a classic three-register hand-wound chronograph movement and an important caliber supporting the functional design of the Navitimer. With its black mirror dial, well-preserved lume, and period accessories, this Ref.806 is a strong and highly appealing example that captures the charm of vintage Breitling.

Breitling traces its origins to 1884, when a workshop specializing in complicated watches was established in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. Its founder, Léon Breitling, was highly talented in chronograph production and earned numerous awards at exhibitions, helping establish the company’s name. From the early days of powered flight, he recognized the future importance of aviation and showed a clear commitment to supporting the industry through watches and instruments made for pilots and aircraft. His successor, Gaston Breitling, continued this direction and made significant contributions to aviation, including the development of one of the world’s first wrist-worn chronographs.
