Ref. 6430 is a manually wound Speedking housed in a compact Oyster case. Its glossy black mirror dial features short baton indexes and luminous dots around the perimeter. The coronet and the “ROLEX” and “OYSTER SPEEDKING” signatures are gilt, created by exposing the metal beneath the black dial coating, while “PRECISION” is printed. Luminous hands, a smooth bezel, and a clean dial layout give the compact case a well-balanced appearance. The watch is fitted with the uncommon 17mm Ref. 7835 bracelet and 351 end links, with no date code stamped inside the clasp.
The case and bracelet show minor scratches and wear consistent with age, while retaining the original case profile and clearly defined transitions between surfaces. The black mirror dial preserves its rich gloss and even tone, with the gilt lettering and short indexes remaining crisp. Its state of preservation is particularly notable for a watch more than half a century old. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.
Ref. 6430 combines a robust Oyster case with a manually wound movement in the compact format characteristic of the Speedking. Unlike Rolex’s larger sports models, this example brings a black mirror dial and gilt lettering to a smaller case, clearly displaying the finishing techniques of the period within a restrained layout. The short indexes and perimeter lume plots give the dial its distinctive rhythm.
