1970年製、キングセイコー クロノメーター Ref.4502-8010です。通常の45KSとは異なり、文字盤に「CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED」を掲げた公式クロノメーター仕様。シルバーのサンレイダイヤルに、細身のアプライドバーインデックスとブラックラインを入れたバーハンドを配置し、3時位置に日付表示を備えています。幅広いラグをケースと一体化させたオーバルシェイプは量感がありながら、薄いベゼルによって文字盤を大きく見せる均整の取れた造形です。

ケースには使用に伴う細かな傷が見られますが、上面のヘアラインと側面の鏡面仕上げは明確に切り替わり、ラグからケースサイドへ続く稜線も良好に残っています。シルバーダイヤルは目立つ変色や傷が少なく、放射仕上げと各種プリントは鮮明です。針、インデックス、アプライドのSEIKOおよびKSロゴにも目立つ劣化は見られません。裏蓋中央には「CHRONOMETER」の文字を入れた金色のKSメダリオンが残り、リューズにもKSの意匠が確認できます。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

ムーブメントは25石の手巻きCal.4502Aを搭載。毎時36,000振動、毎秒10振動で駆動する第二精工舎製の薄型ハイビートムーブメントで、秒針停止機能と日付早送り機能を備えています。自動巻機構を持たないことでケースを薄く抑えながら、高振動化による安定した精度を追求した設計です。公式クロノメーター検定を通過した本作は、45KSの中でも精度を明確に保証された上位仕様であり、1970年前後の国産機械式時計が到達した技術水準を伝える一本です。

Produced in 1970, this King Seiko Chronometer Ref.4502-8010 is an officially certified chronometer, distinguished from the standard 45KS by the “CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED” inscription on its dial. The silver sunburst dial is fitted with slender applied baton indexes, baton hands with black inserts, and a date display at 3 o’clock. Broad lugs flow directly into the oval-shaped case, giving it a substantial profile, while the slim bezel allows the dial to appear particularly open and well proportioned.

The case shows fine scratches from use, though the brushed upper surfaces and polished sides remain clearly differentiated. The defined lines extending from the lugs into the case sides are also well preserved. The silver dial shows little noticeable discoloration or damage, with its radial finish and printed details remaining crisp. The hands, indexes, and applied SEIKO and KS emblems display no significant deterioration. The gold-tone KS medallion on the case back retains its “CHRONOMETER” inscription, and the KS emblem remains visible on the crown. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Inside is the 25-jewel, manually wound Cal.4502A. Produced by Daini Seikosha, this slim high-beat movement operates at 36,000 vibrations per hour, or ten beats per second, and is equipped with hacking seconds and a quick-set date. The absence of an automatic winding mechanism allowed for a relatively thin case while its high-frequency construction was developed to provide stable and accurate timekeeping. Having passed official chronometer testing, this represents a higher-grade version of the 45KS with formally certified performance, reflecting the technical standards achieved by Japanese mechanical watchmaking around 1970.
