ROLEX OYSTERDATE Ref6694 Black Gilt Dial with Expansion Bracelet

COMMENT

HIGHLIGHT

Black Gilt Dial,  Expansion Bracelet

COMMENT

The Ref.6694, a hand-wound model embraced by a wide range of users from Rolex beginners to seasoned enthusiasts, stands out with its sporty case featuring a smooth bezel and a three-link Oyster bracelet. Housed within the traditional Oyster case is a black gilt dial. The bar indexes and classic alpha hands, in silver, exude a rugged charm. The dagger-shaped indexes at 6 and 9 o'clock add a crisp touch, contributing to a well-defined face. The flat crown logo is a subtle choice. It comes with a bracelet featuring the US expansion, consistent with the year of production.

While the dial may appear to show strong aging in the photos, it is less noticeable in person. The excellent contrast between the central glossy mirror and the sparkling aging around the indexes creates a fantastic art dial. The indexes and hands exhibit minimal aging and shine brightly when viewed at different angles. The half-spherical luminous markers maintain their shape without any blackening, presenting an ideal aging pattern. The case has well-defined lug edges, and the bracelet exhibits robust spring action, highlighting its high points.

The movement is the robust Cal.1215, projecting a cool and calculated sense of style when worn casually. Striking a balance between ruggedness and luxury, it exudes just the right tension.
