珍しい質感のダイアルを備えたシーマスターデビル。1963年にデビューしたデビルはワンピースケースの採用した、シーマスターからの派生モデルでした。シーマスターに比べると細くて繊細なバー状のラグは、先端で内側に向けて切り落とされ上品さをプラスしています。ケースの縁ギリギリまで文字盤面積が大きく、実際のサイズより時計が大きく見えます。ダイヤルはシルクのような光沢の強い、縦ヘアライン仕上げです。よりドレッシーに徹しており、限りなくフォーマルです。しかしながらインデックスはデビルによく見られるバーではなく、視認性の高いクサビを採用しており、この時計のアイデンティティとしています。

ケースはオリジナルのシェイプをよく残した、良好な状態です。傷が少なく、ラグの多面カットのエッジが効いています。ダイヤルはポツポツとした若干の経年変化が確認できます。色合いに変化は見られず、発売当初のままを残しています。針やインデックスはルーペで覗くと僅かにエイジングが確認できます。肉眼だと気にならないもので、鏡面が光をきらりと反射します。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

＜DE VILLE＞はフランス語で「街角」を意味します。その名に相応しく、都会的でタウンユースのしやすい小洒落た雰囲気を持っています。コンステレーションとは違った、薄型だがドレスウォッチになり過ぎない、分別をわきまえた感じの良さが魅力的な1本です。

COMMENT

A distinctive Seamaster DeVille featuring a rare-textured dial. Introduced in 1963, the DeVille made its debut as a derivative model from the Seamaster, adopting a one-piece case. The slender and delicate bar-shaped lugs, compared to the Seamaster, are cut inward at the tips, adding elegance. The dial extends to the very edge of the case, creating an illusion of a larger watch size than its actual dimensions. The dial boasts a strong, silky sheen with vertical hairline finishing, presenting a more formal and dressy appearance. However, unlike the bar indices commonly found on DeVille, it opts for highly visible wedge-shaped indices, defining the identity of this timepiece.

The case maintains its original shape and is in excellent condition. Few scratches are visible, and the faceted edges of the lug cuts are sharp. The dial exhibits slight aging with scattered spots, yet the color remains unchanged, preserving its original appearance. Upon close inspection with a loupe, minor aging is noticeable on the hands and indices, but it is imperceptible to the naked eye, and the mirror surface reflects light brilliantly. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our company.

"DE VILLE" translates to "city corner" in French, and true to its name, it exudes a sophisticated and stylish atmosphere suitable for urban use. Different from the Constellation, it strikes a balance, being thin yet not overly dressy, radiating a sense of tasteful elegance.
