36mmジャンボケースを持つビッグバブルバック。Ref.6098はRef.6150やRef.6298と同様にダイヤルバリエーションが豊富で、公式に1stモデルとして挙げられたRef.6350とは別に、EXPLORER表記が記載されたこともあるエクスプローラー第1世代として知られています。こちらはエクスプローラー表記こそありませんが、稀有なディテールを有しています。

インデックスは夜光塗料のオールアラビア。外周に目盛りの細かいミニッツを配したミリタリースタイルを思わせる意匠ですが、 非常に珍しいブルースチールのアルファハンド、ゴールドの秒針が組み合わされクラシックな面持ちに仕上がっています。竜頭はこの世代ならではのプラス表記が刻印されています。

当時ビッグバブルバックや1950年代のスポーツモデルに装備されていた、希少なイングランドブレスREG.875088が付属します。20mmのエンドピースいわゆるフラッシュフィットから15.5mmほどに一気に細まる造形には、一見すると違和感を感じる方がいるかと存じますが、FFとブレスレットとは一体で作られています。

ケースは素晴らしいプロポーションです。エッジを効かせたラグや厚み、ビッグバブルは腕元での存在感が段違いです。ダイヤルは斑点状のパティナが見られますが、正面から見た時は程よいヴィンテージ感。角度をつけて光を反射させると、よりエイジングを感じます。ルミナスは素晴らしいベージュカラーへと焼けています。ブルースチールの針は深みのある青を現存しています。ブレスレットは過度な使用歴が見られない、良好なコンディションです。詳細はわかっておりませんが、バックルには仕入れ時からシールが貼られていたため、残しております。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。パワーリザーブ41時間を確認しています。竜頭の巻き上げから、ローターの爽快な動きまで、時代を感じさせません。

Featuring a 36mm jumbo case, this Big Bubble Back Ref.6098 boasts a wide range of dial variations similar to Ref.6150 and Ref.6298. It's known as part of the first generation of Explorers, distinct from the officially listed Ref.6350, which sometimes featured the EXPLORER designation. While this piece lacks the Explorer inscription, it possesses rare details.

The indices are luminous-painted Arabic numerals, reminiscent of military style with finely marked minute tracks around the periphery. However, what sets it apart are the exceptionally rare blue steel Alpha hands combined with a gold second hand, giving it a classic look. The crown features the plus symbol engraving unique to this generation.

Accompanying this timepiece is the rare English bracelet REG.875088, typically found on Big Bubble Backs and 1950s sports models. Despite its unique narrowing from 20mm end pieces to around 15.5mm, it's seamlessly integrated with the watch.

The case exhibits excellent proportions, with sharp-edged lugs and substantial thickness. The Big Bubble Back commands attention on the wrist. The dial displays speckled patina, adding a perfect vintage touch when viewed head-on, while angling it reflects aging more prominently. The luminous material has aged beautifully into a splendid beige hue. The blue steel hands retain their deep blue color. The bracelet is in good condition with no signs of excessive wear. Although details are unclear, the buckle retains its original seal from the time of acquisition. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our company, confirming a power reserve of 41 hours. From winding the crown to the rotor's smooth motion, it feels timeless.
