1953年からわずか2年間の短い製造期間で登場したターノグラフは、回転ベゼルを搭載したスポーツロレックスのルーツともいえるモデルです。このモデルには様々な針やダイヤルのバリエーションが存在しますが、その多くはスポーツ用途向けで夜光インデックスを備えています。今回の個体は希少なノールミナス、金無垢インサートを備えたコンビモデルで、ブラックミラーのダイヤルと外周のゴールドツートンが特徴です。ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUALの文字はギルトで、ミニッツドットにはロレックスでは珍しいパールドロップ手法が採用されています。搭載ムーブメントCal.645は、バブルバックの最終キャリバーとして知られ、セミバブルバックに多く使用された機構改良も加えられています。希少なコンビの20mmジュビリーブレスレット、エンドリンク55、クラスプデイト53/4が装備されており、バックルの王冠ロゴが特徴的で迫力があります。無記名のギャランティーペーパーが付属します。

The Turn-O-Graph, produced for a brief two-year period starting in 1953, is considered the precursor to Rolex's sport models with its rotating bezel. This model comes in a variety of dial and hand configurations, most of which feature luminous indexes for sports use. The piece we are offering is a rare non-luminous example, a two-tone combination model with a black mirror dial and gold outer minute track. The "ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL" text is gilded, and the minute dots feature the rare pearl-drop technique, which is seldom seen in Rolex models. Powered by the Cal.645 movement, it is the final caliber used in the bubbleback series, incorporating enhancements that were later used in the semi-bubbleback models. The watch comes equipped with a rare 20mm Jubilee bracelet, endlinks 55, and clasp with the date 53/4, featuring the signature crown logo on the buckle, giving it a bold and striking appearance.

The case shows slight signs of use but remains in excellent condition with no noticeable damage, maintaining its beautiful proportions. Notably, the bezel, which is prone to damage due to its delicate nature, remains in its original condition—a rare find considering the years of use most Turn-O-Graphs experience. The black mirror dial exhibits a subtle sheen, with the underlying surface slightly visible due to aging, adding to its allure.
