ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL DATE Ref.1500 Black Gilt Dial

COMMENT

COMMENT

This Ref.1500, with a black mirror and full gilt lettering, exudes a unique charm. The bar indices at 6 and 9 feature a distinct cut, creating a three-dimensional effect that reflects light beautifully. The hands have an edged center with luminescent coating, adding to the watch's character. The waterproof Oyster case, combined with a smooth bezel, offers a simple yet elegant design. The flat crown logo adds a touch of sportiness. It comes equipped with the original Rolex oyster bracelet.

The Cal.1560 movement in this watch incorporates the "free-sprung" balance, adjusting the inertia moment of the balance wheel to regulate the watch's accuracy by minimizing the extra load on the hairspring. This movement, notable for being the first to remove the regulating index in Rolex watches, requires high-precision parts manufacturing and delicate adjustment techniques, showcasing Rolex's technological prowess. The chronometer-grade movement is robust against shocks and ensures stable accuracy, making it suitable for daily wear.

The case is in excellent proportion with minimal noticeable scratches or marks, presenting a striking and dignified vintage appearance. The robust lugs add to its presence. The dial displays a mirror-like aging overall, revealing subtle hints of brown, reminiscent of a cosmic expanse of stardust. The delicate and glamorous impression of the dial is complemented by hands and indices showing minimal signs of aging, suggesting the changes are not due to water exposure.

In today's watch industry, where sports models often steal the spotlight, Rolex's standard models remain an unwavering focus, representing the brand's enduring commitment over its long history. Regardless of fashion, business, or occasion, Rolex's standard models offer a special sense of exhilaration when worn, making them truly timeless and universally appealing.
