ノンデイト自動巻。エアキングRef.5500の上位機種にあたるRef.1002です。薄型ケースに丸みのあるドーム型風防でヴィンテージらしい装着感です。ダイヤルはシルバーのサンレイ。ドルフィンハンド × 多面カットのバーインデックスのコンビネーションはドレッシーなフェイスに力強い印象を与えます。3.6.9のインデックスは独特なカットがヴィンテージらしいです。シンプルなフェイスですが、ノンデイトなのが潔く、インデックスでしっかり個性を引き出しています。

搭載ムーブメントであるCal.1560はテンワの慣性モーメントを調整することで、時計の進み遅れを調整する「フリースプラング」を採用。ロレックスで緩急針を初めて取り除いたムーブメントです。ひげぜんまいへの余計な負荷が少なく、長期的に精度安定、等時性安定を実現できます。しかしながら、その具現化には高精度なパーツ製造技術や繊細な調整技術が必要ですので、当時のロレックスの技術力の高さを感じます。クロノメーター仕様のムーブメントは衝撃に強く、精度が安定していることから、安心して日常的に楽しめます。

ケースは目立った傷や打痕が見られず、良好なプロポーションを保っています。文字ダイヤルは目立ったエイジングが見られず、当時のまま保持しています。評価の対象となる重要なポイントとして、ドットの夜光が変色や崩れなく残っています。クラウンロゴや、インデックス、針に関してはくすみがほとんど見られません。リベットブレスは伸びが少なく、こちらも嬉しいところです。弊社にて分解掃除済みで、48時間以上のパワーリザーブを確認しています。

The non-date automatic model, Ref.1002, is an upscale version of the Air-King Ref.5500. With its slim case and rounded dome-shaped crystal, it exudes a vintage feel in terms of wearability. The dial features a silver sunray finish, and the combination of dauphine hands and multi-faceted bar indices imparts a dressy face with a robust impression. The 3.6.9 indices have a unique cut, adding a vintage touch. Despite its simplicity, the absence of a date window allows the indices to bring out a distinct personality.

The Cal.1560 movement, equipped in this timepiece, adopts the "free-sprung" balance mechanism, which adjusts the inertia of the balance wheel to regulate the watch's accuracy. It was the first movement by Rolex to eliminate the regulation pins. This design minimizes additional stress on the hairspring, ensuring long-term stability in accuracy and isochronism.
