スキッパーはヨットレース用に製造されたツールウォッチで、大きくてカラフルな15分積算系が特徴的です。赤、白、青の積算系は5分間毎のセクションに分かれており、5分という時間を繰り返し計測するのに便利な仕様です。スキッパーはホイヤーのラインナップの中でも非常に生産量の少なかったため、他のモデルからケースを流用し製造されました。当初はカレラのケースを使用していましたが、1970年代にオータビアのケースに移行します。Ref.15640は3rdモデルで、オータビアの最終モデル（Ref.11063V刻印入り）のCラインケースを使用しています。ダイヤルから大きく飛び出ており、ヘアライン加工と鏡面を使い分けが上手いです。ダイヤルはミラーのブラック。ベゼルは時間と分を記載しています。貴重なタグホイヤーロゴの純正ブレスレット、251刻印が付属します。

ケースはプロポーションがよく、横から見たビューのエッジが立っています。60分のベゼルインサートに摩耗がなくフレッシュな印象です。　ダイヤルは経年変化が出ておらず、ミラーのツヤがパーフェクトに残っています。劣化が一切ないため、グロッシーなブラックとカラフルな積算系のコントラストを最大限に堪能できます。針やインデックスにエイジングはありません。ルミナスに焼けが出ておらず、しっかりとした蓄光が確認できます。

ムーブメントはCal.15を搭載しています。22時〜0時往復による日付早送り機能を備えた便利な機械ですので、使い勝手が良いです。ブルーカラーの15640も存在しますが、ブラックは人気で見つかりづらいです。状態の良いものを手に入れる絶好の機会ですので、ぜひご検討ください。

The Skipper, a tool watch designed for yacht racing, is notable for its large, colorful 15-minute counter. The red, white, and blue sub-dial is divided into 5-minute sections, making it ideal for repeatedly measuring 5-minute intervals. Due to its low production numbers, the Skipper used cases from other Heuer models. Initially, it used the Carrera case but transitioned to the Autavia case in the 1970s. The Ref. 15640 is the third model, utilizing the C-line case from the final Autavia model (marked Ref. 11063V). The dial stands out with a combination of hairline and mirror finishes. It features a mirror-black dial and a bezel with time and minutes markings. It comes with the rare original TAG Heuer bracelet, marked 251.

The case has excellent proportions with sharp edges when viewed from the side. The 60-minute bezel insert shows no wear, maintaining a fresh appearance. The dial has no signs of aging, with the mirror finish remaining perfect. The lack of deterioration allows you to fully appreciate the glossy black dial and colorful sub-dial contrast. The hands and indices show no aging, and the luminous material has not darkened, retaining strong luminescence.

The movement is the Cal. 15, known for its convenience with a quickset date function by moving the crown back and forth between 10 and 12 o'clock. While blue-dialed 15640 models exist, the black variant is highly sought after and difficult to find. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire one in pristine condition.
