機械式時計最盛期、1970製のデイデイトです。金無垢とプラチナのみで展開されているデイデイトは、フルスペルで曜日が表示される初のモデルでした。18金無垢のオイスターケースはフルーテッドベゼルの輝きが美しく、重厚感があります。通常よりも幅の広い針とインデックスが採用された「ワイドボーイ」です。針、インデックスともに中央に溝があるデザインが施されており、梨地と鏡面の切り替えが珍しいです。エレガントなドレスウォッチにスポーティテイストが混ざり、迫力のある作品に仕上がっています。

ケースは使用傷が少なく、肉厚でプロポーションに優れます。2時のラグ裏のホールマークと18Kの刻印がしっかりと視認できるのがポイントです。ダイヤルはパーフェクトです。高倍率のルーペで除いても気になる点がなく、美しいコンディションで当時のヘアラインをそのままに残しています。ドットのルミナスは欠けが見られず、美しいベージュカラーです。針とインデックスは上面の鏡面仕上げが美しく輝きます。ワイドボーイのデイデイトは針が交換されてしまっている個体が多く見られるので、オリジナルの針が付いているのは大切なポイントです。弊社にて分解掃除済みで、パワーリザーブ48時間以上を確認しています。

A Day-Date from the heyday of mechanical watches, crafted in 1970. The Day-Date, available only in solid gold and platinum, was the first model to display the day in full spelling along with the date. The 18k solid gold Oyster case boasts the beautiful shine of a fluted bezel, exuding a substantial and elegant presence. This particular piece features the "Wide Boy" style, characterized by broader hands and indices than usual. Both hands and indices showcase a unique design with grooves down the center, alternating between brushed and mirror-polished surfaces. It blends an elegant dress watch with a sporty touch, resulting in a powerful timepiece.

The case exhibits minimal signs of use, with a thick build and excellent proportions. The hallmark and 18k stamp on the back of the lugs at 2 o'clock are clearly visible, highlighting the authenticity. The dial is flawless, maintaining the original hairline finish from that era without any noticeable flaws even under high magnification. The luminous dots are intact and present a beautiful beige color. Both hands and indices shine elegantly with their top mirror-polished surfaces. The fact that this Day-Date retains its original hands is a crucial point, as many Wide Boy models often have replaced hands. Having undergone disassembly and cleaning at our facility, the watch demonstrates a power reserve of over 48 hours.

When introduced in 1956, the Day-Date was the world's first chronometer automatic watch with waterproof capabilities, displaying both the date and day. It gained its prestigious status as the finest status watch, presented to the 34th President of the United States, Mr. Eisenhower, by ROLEX.
