CARTIER SM & LM MUST DE TANK REF.1613 LIMITED 500

COMMENT

COMMENT

The Must series captivates with its diverse dial variations, offering the pleasure of selecting a favorite from the array of options. This particular model is a rare limited edition, restricted to 500 pieces. It adopts Arabic numerals positioned at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock and features a gold-and-white two-tone dial. The richness in variations adds the joy of discovering subtle differences.

The case, though unfinished, shows no prominent scratches, presenting a clean appearance, including the glass. The dial is in splendid condition, maintaining the authentic colors of white and gold from that era. The crocodile leather strap is crafted to the original Tank-specific size, with Cartier's genuine D-buckle, allowing you to appreciate its originality.

The dial design takes inspiration from watches of the 1930s, featuring tilted 3 and 9 numerals. The gold sector dial, divided by lines into small chambers, reflects the design styles of the heyday, incorporating elements of Art Deco when the Tank watch first debuted. It becomes a special piece within the Must series, evoking Cartier's unique sentiment.

While Cartier is renowned today as a jeweler, it was the first to create authentic wristwatches in 1904, a time when pocket watches were still predominant. The name "Tank" is derived from the design inspiration drawn from Renault tanks, said to have contributed to the conclusion of World War I. Among them, the Must series offers a variety of dial options.
