VACHERON CONSTANTIN Blue Mosaic Dial REF.7811

COMMENT

HIGHLIGHT

Blue Mosaic Dial

COMMENT

This is a Vacheron Constantin dress watch manufactured around 1970. The dial features a titanium base with a mosaic finish, reminiscent of sodalite stone, presenting an exquisite texture. With bar indices, pencil hands, and white print at the center, the design ensures high legibility. The case, crafted from solid 18K yellow gold, is a classic round shape with bar lugs, embodying the elegance of a traditional dress watch. The matte finish adds a soft tactile quality. Inside is the Cal. K1014, a high-grade movement based on the Jaeger-LeCoultre Cal. 818. This exceptional mechanism, used exclusively by Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin, is regulated in five positions (adjusted for five positions and temperature), confirming its status as a pinnacle of dress watch craftsmanship.

The watch remains in mint condition. The case shows very few scratches, retaining its original finish, including the delicate hairline texture on the case back. The gracefully beveled edges of the lugs are uniformly preserved. The rare dial is also in mint condition, maintaining its original texture from the time of manufacture. The hands and index print remain intact, exuding a lustrous and pristine appearance. Fully serviced by our team, this piece is ready for immediate use.

The poetic mosaic dial evokes the dreamlike quality of Monet’s Water Lilies, captivating the viewer with its impressionistic charm. As a product of 1970s craftsmanship, it offers a richly expressive design that invites closer appreciation. In recent years, such dress watches have come into vogue—but few pieces embody this artistic flair with such rarity and distinction.

BRAND

Founded in the mid-18th century, Vacheron Constantin is the world’s oldest high-end watch brand, known in Japan for many years under the misinterpretation as "Baseron Constantien." The brand continues the spirit of the "Cabinotiers," highly skilled watchmakers who set up workshops in attics (cabinets) to find better light, earning the name out of respect. The Maltese cross logo symbolizes their excellence. With a legacy of sophisticated craftsmanship and superior technical expertise, Vacheron Constantin’s masterpieces are highly esteemed by collectors and hold a prominent position globally.
