1953年製造のRef.6294。オイスターデイトと言えばRef.6694ですが、二世代前のものにあたります。ダイヤルには人気の高いハニカムパターンのギョシェが施され、クサビインデックスや王冠ロゴはデボスタイプのデザイン。針はアルファハンドを採用しており、ブルースチールの秒針がアクセントとして映えます。ムーブメントは手巻きのCal.740で、デイト表示はこの世代独特の常時レッド仕様で、当時のデイト機能の先進性が感じられる仕様です。リベットのオイスターブレスレット（Ref.7205）、エンドリンク60、クラスプデイト72/2を装備しています。

ケースは若干の痩せが見られるものの、プロポーションは悪くなく、目立つ傷や打痕も見当たらず、全体的に好印象です。ダイヤルはエイジングによりヴィンテージウォッチならではの深みのある表情を見せ、均一な色合いがデボス加工のインデックスを際立たせています。針やインデックスには僅かなエイジングが見られるものの、ダイヤルとの調和がとれています。特にブルースチールの秒針は色褪せがなく、鮮やかな印象です。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

赤/赤のデイト表示やデボス加工のインデックス、王冠ロゴなど、1950年代のロレックスの特徴を随所に感じられる逸品で、手巻きの動作を楽しむたびにヴィンテージならではの愛着が深まる一本です。

オイスターデイトは手巻きの為薄く、ロレックスの入門編として日常使いにもお勧めできるモデルです。当時から多彩なカラーバリエーションが見られ、ブラックやブルーも、他のモデルにくらべて手が出しやすい価格層に抑えられています。安定した手巻きのムーブメントは精度が良く、日付の早送りがついていない為、針を進めて変更するのが少々手間ですが、アンティークらしい愛嬌のある手巻き時計としてロレックスを楽しめます。

Produced in 1953, the Ref. 6294 predates the well-known Oysterdate Ref. 6694 by two generations. Its dial features a popular honeycomb guilloché pattern, while the wedge indices and crown logo are beautifully presented in a recessed "デボス" style. The alpha hands are complemented by a blue steel seconds hand, providing a vibrant accent. Powered by the manual-wind Cal. 740, the date display is in a unique, always-red format, reflecting the era’s innovation in date function design. It comes fitted with a riveted Oyster bracelet (Ref. 7205), end links 60, and a clasp dated 72/2.

The case, though slightly worn, retains good proportions with no prominent scratches or dings, leaving an overall positive impression. The dial exhibits a deep, vintage character developed over time, with the even patina enhancing the recessed indices. Both the hands and indices display light aging, harmonizing with the dial, while the blue steel seconds hand remains vivid and unmarred. This watch has been fully disassembled and serviced in-house.

With its red-on-red date display, recessed indices, crown logo, and other hallmark 1950s Rolex features, this piece captures the charm of vintage design. Each winding deepens one’s appreciation for the character that only vintage watches offer.
