1978年製のロレックスGMTマスター Ref.1675は、MK5ダイヤルを搭載したモデルで、1675の中でも最終期にあたるものです。このMK5ダイヤルは、ロレックスの王冠ロゴがシャープで洗練された印象を持ち、全体のデザインに一層のモダンさを与えています。GMT針はマットダイヤル特有の大きなポインターで、視認性に優れています。ブレスレットはRef.78360で、エンドリンク580を装備しており、当時の正規の仕様を保っています。

トータルでコンディションの良さが見られる個体です。ケースのコンディションは非常に良好で、痩せを全く感じさせません。ケースサイドの断面はシャープで、オリジナルの面取りがそのまま残っており、フラットな仕上げが際立っています。小キズは散見されますが、かえって好印象です。ベゼルは色味や状態が素晴らしいです。14の近くに微小な剥離がありますが、高評価なコンディションを保っています。ダイヤルはミントコンディションで、焼けたルミナスがヴィンテージらしい風合いを醸し出しています。針のメッキの輝きとルミナスの色味も非常に良好です。この個体は2024年7月に、日本ロレックスによって分解掃除が施されています。ベゼルと針は交換されましたが、元来のオリジナルパーツは返却されました。弊社にてオリジナルのパーツに戻しています。

マーク5ダイヤルは1977年から1979年にかけて製造され、シリアルナンバーは5.0milから5.9milまでとされています。ロレックスのヴィンテージスポーツモデルはマイナーチェンジを重ねてきたため、こうした細かいデザインの整合性が取れている点はコレクターにとって大きな魅力となっています。

ロレックスがパン・アメリカン航空の国際線パイロットのために開発したGMTマスターは、異なる場所の時刻を把握できる機能を備えたロレックス唯一のパイロットウォッチ。GMTマスターは、エクスプローラーやサブマリーナーほどの人気を獲得していなかったが、2007年のステイタス性を押し出したモデルチェンジを機に現行モデルを代表する人気スポーツモデルとなった。この人気が引き金となり、旧型、ヴィンテージモデルともに再注目され、特に鮮やかなカラーリングの2トーンベゼルに人気が集中しています。

This 1978 Rolex GMT Master Ref. 1675 features the sought-after MK5 dial, representing the final iteration of the 1675 series. The MK5 dial stands out with its sharp and refined Rolex crown logo, lending a modern touch to the overall design. The GMT hand, with its large pointer, is characteristic of matte dials and offers excellent legibility. It comes with a Ref. 78360 bracelet and 580 end links, maintaining the authentic specifications from the period.

This piece displays excellent overall condition. The case is in outstanding shape, showing no signs of thinning whatsoever. The edges of the case sides are sharp, with the original bevels fully intact, accentuating the flat finish beautifully. While minor scratches can be seen, they actually add to its charm. The bezel exhibits wonderful colour and condition; though there is a slight chip near the 14 mark, it still maintains a highly desirable state. The dial is in mint condition, with a lovely vintage character brought out by the patina on the lume. Both the plating on the hands and the lume colour are exceptionally well-preserved. This piece was fully serviced by Rolex Japan in July 2024. While the bezel and hands were replaced, the original parts were returned and subsequently restored by us to maintain authenticity.

The MK5 dial was produced between 1977 and 1979, typically found in the 5.0 to 5.9 million serial number range. Rolex vintage sports models have undergone several minor changes, and the consistency in design details makes this particular piece highly desirable among collectors.

BRAND

Originally developed by Rolex for Pan American World Airways' international pilots, the GMT Master is Rolex’s only pilot watch, designed to allow the wearer to track time across different locations. Although the GMT Master did not initially achieve the same popularity as the Explorer or Submariner, its 2007 model redesign brought it into the spotlight, turning it into one of Rolex’s most popular sports models. This renewed interest has led to a surge in demand for earlier and vintage models, especially those with the iconic two-tone bezel in vibrant colors.
