COMMENT
This is a superb example from the golden age of mechanical Omega—produced in the pre-Quartz era when mechanical watchmaking had reached its peak. The proportions are beautifully refined, with a balanced case thickness and diameter that fit comfortably on the wrist, particularly well-suited to Japanese sizing. The dial features a classic onyx-style layout, with a black minute track between the hands and indexes, enhancing both legibility and sharp visual contrast. It is paired with a beads-of-rice bracelet, Ref. 1036 with end links 11—adding a touch of vintage elegance.
What sets this piece apart is its outstanding condition. The dial, originally silver, has taken on a warm champagne tone through natural aging. The gentle patina adds richness without any unsightly blemishes or stains—an inviting and sophisticated hue that brings depth and charm. The case has been professionally finished in keeping with its original specifications and offers a clean, polished presence—ideal for pairing with formal or business attire.
With details like the subtly curved dial and faceted dauphine hands, the watch offers all the character of a classic vintage Omega. And thanks to its mature mechanical construction, it also delivers reliable performance—allowing you to enjoy vintage aesthetics in modern daily life.
